The 2 last 2010 active optimist sailors of this year’s Worlds Belgium Squad sailed their last regatta in Circolo Vela Torbole
Well done Maud de Bie (11th) and Alejo Compernolle (12th)

Welcome home Belgian Optimist Sailing Team Worlds

Very well done in Portoroz!

The future is yours now.

Among the 5 sailors, 4 were born in 2010 and therefore must leave the class DOCB - De site van de Belgische Optimist Klasse
Henri and Maxime will jump into their next sailing class immediately, ILCA or 29er.
Maud is still considering her options and Alejo stays until the end of the year.
Only the youngest one, Paul, for sure will be seen in the coming years in the IODA events Optiworld

And they're back - all looked very tired. Welcome home, 🇧🇪 Belgian Optimist Sailing Team Worlds ! ❤️

They spent their last night in Portoroz & Piran , Slovenia, talking with their new and old friends from all over the world and exchanging many t-shirts with other sailors. Team BELGIUM had a stand there, maybe you saw them by any chance.

Among them, 4 sailors were born in the year of 2010. Henri and Maxime will jump into next sailing class, ILCA and 29er after today. Maud is considering of her options and Alejo stays till the end of year, and the only and youngest one sailor Paul, for sure you will see him at 2026 Optimist World Championship in Tanger, Morocco and many more Optiworlds.

Again, Greek is crowned as Optimist World Champion. They do manage to sail in all kinds of weather conditions, especially in this year's very difficult and very challenging weather with light and tricky winds!

Congratulations to Nikolaos Pappas (GRE 3200), the winner of 2025 Optiworld Championship in Portoroz & Piran, SLOVENIA. Also congratulations to all the other sailors who finished your big journey at this highest level of Optimist class regattas. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

On the final day of the Optimist World Championship in Portorož, sailors completed one last race for all fleets in a light northeast breeze. As expected, the morning wind lasted a bit longer than usual, so the race committee sent the sailors onto the water shortly after 10 AM, hoping to make the mo...

That's it for the 2025 Optimist World Championship Optiworld! Today only the Silver fleet completed a race, where both Maud and Maxime managed to further improve their ranking 💪, and Maud earned another 🍦 for with a 7th spot! 😋 Unfortunately, the Bronze fleet race was abandoned while in good positions, as the sea breeze kicked in and the wind shifted by too much, and no more races were sailed.

Party time now with all the other sailors in Portoroz! 🎉🥳

How time flies, it's the last race day already of the 2025 Optimist World Championship Optiworld in .piran!
The forecast is light winds again, but there's a northern breeze this morning. They're launching early to take advantage of it before the sea breeze starts fighting it. Hopefully they can squeeze in a few nice races. 🤞 Go !! ❤️🇧🇪⛵🌊💪

The second last day at the Optimist World Championship Optiworld in the Slovenian ☀️! Light winds again, so instead of the planned 3 races only 1 was sailed. But a good day for : all five in the top-30 of their fleet, and another ice cream earned with a top-10, this time by Paul! 🍦😋
