RAW Cycling Mag

RAW Cycling Mag RAW is a magazine where reflect our passion for cycling ideas and projects, stories behind the most important people and everything related with bike world

It has been many months now since our first contact with the fixed gear world and after riding a couple hundred miles, changing many bike tubes, attend a lot of events and organizing many others, we meet new people and create new friendships, we have decided to start a new project . Our own magazine. RAW is a magazine where we want to reflect our passion for cycling, our ideas and projects, events

that take place in the local and international levels, the stories behind the most important people and everything related to the bike world. As its name means, we want to reflect the pure essence of fixed gear. Covering the most important events and the culture that takes part of the fixed scene. This idea came forward, eager and a lot of will power, but above all, with the support of many people who believe in us and this project, hopefully this will only be the beginning of a very promising future.

During The Traka, we introduced our print magazine to industry friends, and it will be showcased again next week at Sea Otter Europe. We were actually curious to know their opinion on our decision to launch this format after more than 10 years of being online-only, and their honest answers were music to our ears. And you, when was the first time you heard about us? Do you think we have made the right choice? See you in Girona!

Badlands is an unrepeatable experience, but not for everyone, as some are crazy enough to tackle the challenge for a second time. Pol Tarrés (.tarres) and Johnny Anaya () had some unfinished business with the event and wanted to redeem themselves. Although they somewhat knew what to expect, the extreme heat and relentless terrain tested their limits, and covering the 791km with +16.893m of elevation gain that separated them from Capileira was way harder than expected.

At first, we honestly thought that the wavy rim profile of the Sharq was mainly a marketing move. However, after thousands of kilometers of testing in all types of conditions, we have become advocates of the Italian brand’s new wheelset. Let’s simply say that we have never felt so stable on a road bike, even with a fully loaded bike during a multi-day trip, and we have also checked first-hand how well these wheels perform on gravel.

When it was time to develop the second iteration of the URS, the engineers at were free to be as wild as desired, intending to differentiate their adventure gravel bike from the racing machine Kaius even more. The acronym URS comes from “unrestricted”, and the final result of their most recent launch lives up to that concept. Over the last couple of days, we have been in Switzerland testing the four members of the URS family in the conditions that each one excels at.

After a short call with Simon in early August, we could not be more excited to take part in the inaugural edition of on September 14-20th. Alongside Cyril and Aaron , they had designed a set of three self-supported gravel routes of increasing beauty and difficulty in the French Alps, and they were ready to welcome a small group of riders looking for an end-of-summer adventure. History says that the pilgrim Saint Roch traveled around and what he enjoyed the most was the people, food, and scenery he found along his journey. Our hosts already planned that for us and they certainly delivered what would be a memorable gravel experience in the Alps.

The event appears as a way to give a taste of the classics racing conditions to the amateur cyclists in the region of Vallès in Catalonia. Last Sunday, April 23, the third edition of this event took place, with a new route and a total of 50 female and 50 male participants. The mastermind behind this project, , did it again. At Ridley Bikes they can proudly say they have led the Belgian bike frame industry for more than twenty years, but they want more. We recently visited their factory and we could see why they believe they can achieve their mission. The sense of pride of the CEO when showing their latest innovation in frame painting, the excitement of the young Aero Engineer when explaining how the upcoming upgrades of the wind tunnel will put it at the forefront of aero testing... Ridley is a family-owned business, and everyone treats the company like their own child.

When planning the journey around the world he is currently involved in, Boru McCullagh () knew that he would be challenged in ways he could not have foreseen, but there were a couple unchangeable things: he was going to start and finish at the Herne Hill velodrome, which helped so much in the past few years, and ride with the main purpose of raising funds for the mental health charity Minds ().
