Mares Conference The second international Mares Conference on Marine Ecosystems Health and Conservation will be held

The first international Mares Conference on Marine Ecosystems Health and Conservation was held in Olhão, Portugal from the 17th to 21st November 2014. Following on from the success of this conference, the second Mares Conference will be held from the 1st to 5th February 2016 once again in Olhão. The second international Mares Conference is an initiative from the MARES Joint Doctoral Programme and

the EuroMarine Network. The conference is expected to attract over 200 attendees from across the world, with strong representation from the European region. It presents a unique opportunity to bring together marine researchers, from different levels and disciplines, to discuss and address the main issues regarding the impact of human activities on the natural marine environment. The conference aims to be dynamic and innovative, by providing a mixture of oral presentations, scientific exhibitions and training workshops.

The Mares Conference 2016 programme is now online at www.maresconference.eu/programme.

Each scientific session (plenary) will focus on one or two of the six themes of the conference. The sessions will start with an introducing talk by an invited keynote speaker followed by 7 to 9 short oral presentations of 15 minutes.
