As his former coach, it gives me immense pride to see Mohammad Nafiz progressing and establishing himself in Australian cricket.
Nafiz represented Munshiganj at both Under-16 and Under-18 levels and was a valued member of the Rank B Cricket Team for many years. He also played in the Munshiganj Second Division Cricket League, becoming a champion in 2024.
He later won the NDCA 3rd Grade Premier League with his club and was also part of the Sea Dragons First Grade squad for the 2024/25 season.
He is currently representing Kabul Knight Riders in the Newcastle Premier League as a wicketkeeper-batter. Most impressively, he is currently ranked second in the fielding category among 346 players, in a competition featuring former Ranji Trophy and NSW state-level cricketers.
As a coach, there is no greater satisfaction than seeing a former player continue to develop, compete at a higher level, and make his mark through hard work and discipline. Nafiz, stay humble, remain focused, and keep pushing forward. This is only the beginning.
