ROUND 7
An amazing day of games against the Sawtell/Toormina Saints Junior AFL club. Our relocated home ground provided a perfect venue for five back-to-back games.
Well done to all players from both clubs- excellent games of U10s, U12s, U15s Girls, U14s, and U17s Girls.

We are extremely grateful to Wicks and Parker for helping out with the unloading of the synthetic pitch cover and the 1 tonne palette of sand and rubber required to set up our new home ground at the Yamba Sports Complex. Their amazing skilfulness and friendly and capable 'can do' attitude made light work of this challenging task.
Thank you so much, Wicks and Parker. We really appreciate your help.

MAJOR DEVELOPMENT AT THE SUNS.
There mightn’t be any footy this weekend, but… the hard work continues as we have just taken a major step forward for the development of AFL in the Lower Clarence.
In April we secured a $27,674 grant through the AFL NSW/ACT Football Facilities Fund to move our home ground to the front oval of the Yamba Sports Complex, right next to Angourie Road. The grant has enabled the purchase of a cover for the synthetic cricket pitch, AFL goal posts, goal post padding and associated infrastructure.
Being much closer to existing facilities and amenities, and being a ground with far superior drainage than the existing field, the move to the cricket Field 1 will open the door to greater visibility and possibilities for the Lower Clarence Suns into the future.
A huge vote of thanks goes to our extremely capable Secretary Heather Morris (Declutter Lux Design), who has done a magnificent job in securing this grant, and who together with Committee member Deacon Spicer organised and oversaw the installation of the cricket pitch cover on Friday this week.

ROUND 6
Wet weather played havoc across most of the league, but we were able to have three fantastic games at Yamba.
Our U14s took on the Breakers/Roos, Under 15s had the North Coffs Kangaroos (the Roos’ relocated home game due to ground closure) and the day started with an intraclub friendly of combined Suns U10s and U12s players.
Super fun games played in great spirit 👌
Thanks to all who helped the day go ahead, especially the North Coffs Kangaroos Juniors and the Coffs Harbour Breakers AFNC.

ROUND 5 MUD BATH!
Our great game is definitely a Winter sport!
Last week we had four of our five teams playing in Woolgoolga. A great effort from all teams, including a nail-biting come-from-behind win to our Under 17s Youth Girls, with a goal scored to hit the lead with five seconds to go in the match!
As the day went on it got rainier, windier, and muddier. A great day of footy fun.

2026 SEASON LAUNCH.
What a great night, including pies donated by our major sponsor Raine&Horne - Maclean, Yamba, Iluka. We heard updates on our 2026 plans from our Secretary Heather, met the coaches, had lots of fun, and our Coaching Director, Simon 'Tripper' MacGregor, shared about our vision, mission, and our Club values; S.U.N.S- Strength, Unity, Nurture, Strive.
Here is part of Tripper's speech:

We love our Mums! Our wonderful Mothers Day tradition with Grafton Tiger's AFL continued in Round Three, with both clubs' U10s, U12s, and U14s meeting for a fantastic day of footy. After each photo, the players gave their mums a hug and little gift, provided by both clubs, in celebration of our beautiful mums. Our U15s and U17s Girls teams were away, but we wish all of our Suns Mums a very Happy Mothers Day ❤️💛💙❤️💛💙💛
