All the boxes have finally been ticked!
This weekend! We are finally back at The Kennel!

We are so excited to be back home and welcome everyone for this weekend's game against Murrayville.

A huge congratulations and Thanks must go to the Committee and Wunkar Family for the incredible hard work to get us back home, this was no easy task but it is finally done and we can all finally enjoy a Saturday back home.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down and lent a hand at our working bee today.

The effort, time and hard work put in by all volunteers is greatly appreciated and helps keep our club looking its best for everyone to enjoy. From the big jobs to the small ones, every contribution made a difference.

We’re lucky to have such a fantastic group of people willing to give up their time to support the Wunkar Football & Netball Club and our community.

Thank you again to everyone who helped out! your efforts do not go unnoticed. The club is looking great thanks to your hard work and dedication. From your favourite MR VP!

🎞️Centenary Memory Monday Series🎞️

Doggies! Welcome to our Centenary Memory Monday Series! With the centenary celebrations getting ever closer we want you to join us as we take a trip down memory lane and dive into 100 years of Wunkar history.

In 1921 two leagues were formed in our area, The Eastern Murray Football Association and The Murray Valley Football Association.
It wasn’t until 1926 when the recently opened Wanbi to Yinkannie railway line created new towns along its length that Wunkar was formed.

The newly formed club Wunkar, wearing red and white entered The Murray Valley Football Association. At the time the league only had four teams, Mantung, Mercunda, Maggea and Wunkar. The Mantung Football team won the premiership that year.
Check out the earliest known photo of a Wunkar football team below, names are currently unknown.
Did you know anyone or have any family members involved with Wunkar in the 1920s?

Also a little fun fact, did you know that Wunkar was formally know as Walkers Dam?

As we prepare to celebrate 100 incredible years of the Wunkar Football Netball Club, we’re calling on our Wunkar community to help us tell the story of our club.

Over the past century, thousands of players, coaches, volunteers, committee members, supporters and families have all played a part in shaping the club we know and love today. Now we’d love to hear from you!

Doggies! Lots happening this weekend as we take on the Swans.

THE TYREPOWER CUP IS BACK AGAIN! Thanks to Tyrepower Waikerie we were able to revive this amazing tradition last year and once again get to take on the challenge of wining the cup again this year πŸ’ͺ🏽

The Swannies Ladies are hosting their Ladies Day, BOOTS & BUBBLESπŸ₯‚πŸΎ So make sure to grab a ticket and join in πŸ’ž

Last Saturday we celebrated a very special milestone, with Hailey proudly taking to the court for her 50th game in Wunkar colours! 🐾

Hailey has become such an important part of our club, not only as a phenomenal midcourt player who gives 100% every single week, but also as someone who brings positivity, encouragement, and energy to everyone around her.

Whether it’s her determination on court, supporting her teammates, or stepping up behind the scenes, Hailey is always willing to give back to the club. Hailey has also taken on the challenge of learning to umpire, while helping organise umpires each week for both of our netball sides β€” a huge contribution that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.

Hailey, thank you for everything you bring to our Bulldog family both on and off the court. We are so proud to celebrate this milestone with you and can’t wait to see what’s ahead β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

πŸ“’ROUND 5 HOMEGAME ANNOUNCEMENTπŸ“’

Doggies, we know it's been a bit of a tiresome wait to get back home to The Kennel, but all going well it should be very very soon 🀞 The work being put in behind the scenes is absolutely enormous and we know the committee and Wunkar family are just as excited to get home!

However we do have to hang on just that little bit longer and that means this weekends HOMEGAME is again being relocated to The Lyrup Sporting Complex, and we couldn't be more thankful for the ongoing support from Riverland Superdogs! Make sure to check out the canteen and bar while watching the games and give back to them.

More details to come later in the week β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™
