Ensuring our ponies receive their minimum recommendedhand fed roughage, especially during these dry times (their paddocks are a layer of dirt at the moment), is essential during their show prep.

With fluctuation between biscuits of hay, or deconstructing round bales luggage weighing scales come in handy. 😊

Our 2026 showing season is almost complete, with just one major event remaining — the Northern NSW Welsh RPG’s Welsh Show.

Two ponies have already secured their place on the Cynbel Lodge team, and now comes the difficult decision of who else will make the trip south to Tamworth.

With just 53 days until we leave, the real work begins.

Conditioning. Preparation. Presentation. Fine-tuning.

The weeks ahead will be about bringing each contender forward, assessing where they are at, and ultimately deciding who will earn their place on the team.

One final major show for 2026 — and plenty still to be done before we get there.

A little behind-the-scenes preparation from the show ring.

That final finish is often found in the smallest details — enhancing natural colour, adding definition and creating a polished presentation without taking away from the pony itself.

For this preparation we used a selection of NTR and HSE products, including Mark & Hold, Smudge Pot Make-Up, Amplify Oil and Illuminate.

🌸 Cynbel Lodge Spring Sales List – Coming Soon 🌸

We are currently compiling our upcoming Spring Sales List, and there are some very difficult decisions being made behind the scenes.

With our sights firmly set on developing a performance team for the 2028 Welsh International Show, I need to be realistic about the number of ponies I can personally bring on, campaign and give the time they deserve.

As a result, several ponies I had hoped to retain and bring on myself will be offered for sale this spring. They are not easy decisions — quite simply, I can’t take them all with me.

Our Spring Sales List will include ponies that I believe have plenty to offer in the right homes, whether for showing, performance or someone looking for their next special pony.
