Hi everyone,

Just a quick update for all our current and future members 😊

We’re excited to share that our club is now officially affiliated with Sydney Central Badminton Association and Badminton NSW/Australia!

We will also be receiving our Certificate of Currency by the end of this month, which means all registered members will be covered under insurance by default.

This opens up a great opportunity for more players to join the club. As a member, you’ll enjoy:

* Sessions at just $12
* Added benefit of insured, risk-free play
* Access to future programs and collaborations

We’ve also been in touch with Sydney Central (350+ members) regarding coaching and tournament collaborations. Soon, we’re aiming to bring structured programs where interested players, and even parents for their kids can train at a high-quality facility and take their game to the next level.

🏸 We’re back again with another Tip Thursday!

Net Play:
💡 Net shots: the sneaky weapon beginners underestimate.
When the shuttle is close to the net, most players try to hit it hard.
But a soft tap just over the net is often much harder to return than a powerful shot.

Quick technique:
✔ Racquet face slightly open (angled up)
✔ Relax your grip — soft hands
✔ Gently lift it over the net (think serving eggs, not hitting a ball)

Why it works:
• Forces your opponent to rush forward
• Breaks their positioning
• Creates easy winning opportunities

🎯 Challenge for this weekend:
Try adding 5 intentional net shots into your games and see the difference.

Footwork Foundation: 💡Welcome to Tips Thursday!

Quick footwork tip that’ll improve your game immediately: Always move with a shuffle step, not walking steps. And always be on your toes, never flat-footed.

Here’s why: in badminton, you need to change direction fast. If you’re walking normally or standing flat, you’re stuck. On your toes with a shuffle step?
You can explode in any direction. Watch the better players at our sessions this Sunday or Thursday- notice how they’re always bouncing slightly, ready to move. That’s what you want.
Start with just being aware of it. Stay on your toes between shots. Your legs will thank you (or curse you) later 😅
