Gratitute post.♥️ (Performance post to come)
At this last show, George got really unsettled, which is not like him.
I was getting to the point of asking the vet to sedate him and just bring him home on Sunday forfeiting the freestyle. Then everyone in the stable block just banded around and all looked for ways they could help settle George. We were all competing against each other but that didnt matter. Cheryl walked 14 kms that day to keep him happy picking at grass. 😘Jenn Carroll did bodywork, Alex and Lucy sought out an FEI legal supplement, Jade made a plan to help him re-set over a couple of hours with hourly check-ins and Tiff and Ros helped us set up a new stable. Everyone knew this was not "George". I felt so stressed out and worried and was so grateful for the guidance and support.
I admire and appreciate all of these people and everyone else who supported in the process like the Stewards. George not only settled but then worked and travelled home beautifully. Personally, I came away having made more friends as well as strengthening some collaborations across States and a developing a couple of exciting initiatives for Para in SA.
My aim is always to do a personal best but I also want to contribute to the sport. I am grateful to everyone for being so friendly and welcoming me into this wonderful Para Equestrian world.
