GPH COLORADO is a 13yo 16.1 TB gelding by Blackfriars
Denver has been part of our family since he came off the track as a 5yo, and it’s now time for him to find a new home.
Denver had a few years off after sustaining a soft tissue injury when he was sent to the East Coast to be sold. He has now been back in ridden work for four weeks and is ready to continue being brought back into work with his new person, as I do not have the time to do so.
Denver competed successfully at 2* and 120sj and was ready to make the step up to 3* before he was sent over east to be sold, when I changed disciplines to show jumping. He had established trot and canter half pass, walk pirouettes and simple changes. All of the buttons are still there, just a little rusty. Denver is the most honest jumping horse I have ever produced, he has never stopped or run out at a jump in competition or training.
Denver is fundamentally a quiet horse, but he can have anxious thoroughbred moments, and is best managed on magnesium and intermittent ulcer treatment/ gut supplements. He has absolutely no dirt in him, no buck/bolt/rear/bite/kick/pull back. He travels well, camps well and just in a standard set of shoes.
His next home would be happy to continue his flat work over the next month or two and get to know him, before starting to reintroduce low level jumping if that’s what was desired. High level jumping and eventing is not in his best interest for longevity’s sake.
