What a weekend for our WFLW representatives at the 2026 SA Country Championships!

As prestigious as rep footy is, one thing it isn’t is easy. Our players and officials gave up their time, some missed work or events, and all gave up plenty of creature comforts for the chance to test themselves against the best country footballers in the state this weekend.

And they absolutely did themselves proud. 🥇

A special shout out to co-captain Imogen Evans for her outstanding leadership throughout the championships.

Congratulations also go to Imogen Myles and Tamika Reid, who each finished the carnival with four goals, while Shaniah Kingi, Gabby Rodda and Kelis Jackson-Martin all put together an outstanding carnival.

An extra congratulations to Tamika Reid and Kelis Jackson-Martin on being named in the State Country Championships Team of the Carnival. An incredible achievement. 👏

Of course, a huge shout out goes to WFLW coaches Riley Sanders and Nick Tzantzoglou, supported by Belinda Myles, Erin Sanders and Andrew Niemann, plus Jordan Rafferty, Anthony Travers and Tegan Curwood. Thank you for your time, effort and the support you gave our players.

And a last but not least, a very special shout out to all the WFLW Mums, Dads, partners, grandparents, family and friends who made the trip to support the team. It was great seeing so many familiar faces getting around our players all weekend.

This team is made up of the best of the best country footballers from leagues across the north, and every single player selected has earned their spot.

It's a credit to the players putting in the work year on year, their coaches, and the clubs and pathways creating opportunities for women and girls to chase footy at higher levels.
