Happy Father’s Day from West Point Soccer Club! 🖤💚

Today we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, granddads, carers and father figures who are part of our West Point community.

A special Father’s Day shout-out to our dads who are also coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, committee members and volunteers. Thank you for the extra time you give to support not only your own children, but their teammates and our wider West Point community. We see it, and we appreciate it.

And to all the dads on the sidelines - thank you for the early-morning starts, lifts to training, running the line, marshalling, helping out and being there week after week to cheer our players on.

💚 SENIOR WOMEN 💚

“After a thrilling 2-2 draw earlier in the season, West Point Senior Women were energized to be back against the Swifts! We'd come so close to claiming victory over them during the home fixture, so we knew that with just a few small tweaks and tactical adjustments, this could be a great game for us to grab 3 points.

We came out in the first half looking very strong, with a number of quickfire chances and shots on goal from our attackers. That pressure paid off relatively early, with new signing Skye hitting a powerful strike that the keeper couldn't keep a hold of as it slipped through her hands to give West Point the lead.

In the second half, the Swifts adapted quickly and put some pressure back on West Point with some dangerous passes, eventually leading to a goal which tied the game at 1-1.

West Point Women don't quit though, and barely 10 minutes later we managed to once again pull the lead back thanks to a brilliant effort from Emma, making a perfectly timed run to send a crossed ball into the net.

The final 20 minutes were a tense affair, but our women showed resilience and determination, finding that last bit of energy to finish the game with a 2-1 win.

We've been chasing our first win of the season, and the Swifts really made us earn it - an incredibly tight game full of exciting battles and great football.”

💚 SENIOR WOMEN 💚

“After great success at our last small-sided tournament, the team was so excited to participate in the WF7S competition in Melton.

It only took a few minutes for us to warm into the game, with team legend Natasha scoring the opening goal from a well delivered corner by Madelyn! A tough first half, with the crossbar the star of the show, saw us only find the net a second time, but we were positive going into the break.

In the second half, Natasha completed an excellent hat-trick before 7's captain Nurul and debut player Skye scored their first goals for West Point, with Natasha netting a fourth goal to cap off a brilliant performance. With four assists to our regular season golden boot Madelyn, it was clear to see that West Point Women have got some real offensive power!

It was fantastic to also see the versatility of our defensive line, who were able to drive forward with the ball several times after winning loose balls and offer composed back up to reset play.

And now, after Sunday’s game is also complete, it’s evident that the 7’s efforts will translate well for the team. Faster play, stronger attacking press and more shots on goal are becoming the norm.”

🎉 TEAM HIGHLIGHTS 🎉

Another great win for our U14 Girls creating unforgettable moments and memories they will carry for life. 💚🖤⚽️

A team made up of young girls from across the area coming together to learn teamwork and create special memories.

Today, they showed incredible fight, teamwork and determination coming from behind to seal another victory. They battled for every ball, supported each other, and never gave up.

The smiles and the scream after the final whistle said it all. Listen to them singing. ☺️

A well-deserved third win in a row for our U14 girls building friendships and creating memories on their journey together. 💚🖤⚽️
