David was a loyal friend, a dedicated student, and an important part of our AIJ family. Everything he achieved in judo came from hard work, commitment, perseverance, and never giving up.
This year was meant to be a special one for him. He was planning to come to Perth, and after years of dedication, he was going to be promoted to brown belt.
Even now, I still struggle to understand his passing. It is difficult to believe that he is gone.
As coaches, we never really know how long we will have our students with us. We spend years teaching techniques, preparing them for competitions and gradings, but moments like this remind us that what truly matters are the relationships we build, the conversations we have, and the positive impact we leave on each other's lives.
David taught us many lessons through his loyalty, commitment, and determination. His journey is a reminder to value every training session, every friendship, and every moment we share together.
Thank you for being part of our journey, David. You will always be a part of the AIJ family.
Rest in peace, my friend.
