Unfortunately due to dwindling member numbers and no longer being financially viable, we have deregistered our club as at 20/1/2025.

We will keep this page open as a way of reflecting on memories, there were so many good times that were had.

Team Carine have given the finish arch a good old slap to round out the Masters Swimming Australia Nationals earlier in the week. Matt and Kath took on the open water event at the waterfront and chased that high with a tasty looking brunch afterwards.

We also spotted the team in a line up with Beatty Park Masters Swimming Club and Perth City Swim Club - we think that was nearly all of the WA contingent who were not Claremont or Superfins!

It's been a ripper couple of days for Team Carine, who sent a lean, mean squad just big enough for a mixed medley down to HBF Stadium for the Masters Swimming WA State Championships. We're standing by for the medley results, but fielding a team is about 100% of it!

John refused to get off the podium all weekend with a haul of two seconds and three thirds, with Kath picking up a couple of silvers in her backstroke events. Matt and Jacqui answered the call valiantly and kept the points tally up across all the events they could lay their mitts on.

Thanks to Matt for being our official Day 1 photographer, and see if you can spot our past president David timekeeping - thanks for coming down to help out David, always great to see you! There's always a way to Act Belong Commit at a Masters carnival if you're out of the pool for any reason (even if that's just forgetting to put an entry in - which might be why Miriam was available to back up the marshalling team on Sunday). These events can't run without many hands - so thanks to all the officials, timekeepers and marshalls!

A grand day was had by all, including our contingent for the Nationals in Darwin in a few short days ... safe travels and best of luck to our crew, and eyes on this page for updates 📣

Team Carine sent four of its finest to the reboot of our fave meet on the Masters Swimming WA pool calendar - The Newman-Churchlands Act Belong Commit Club Challenge meet got itself fried in Feb due to extreme heat, and the April do-over was still pretty warm!

We were stoked to see our Past Pres David Davies make the trek down to cheer us on and timekeep - one of many volunteer functions that these meets cannot do without - so cheers to that!

The swimmers charged hard, with Kath and Jacqui forming a relay alliance with dual citizen Lauren and her new club the Perth Rainbow Swans. The verdict from our field correspondent was a pretty good days outing, not least a cranking sausage sizzle after racing.

Somebody say State Champs?! It's on in a couple of weeks - April 20-21 at HBF Stadium. You've got until Tuesday to enter, let's get on it ✊️

Here at Masters Swimming, competitions are not as formal as you might think. You can dive off the blocks, from the side or start in the pool. Our tip for our coaches, decide what works best for you and practice that start. Don't worry what everyone is doing, it is your race.

Yesterday saw 4 of Team Carine brave a hectic surf for the Swanny Ocean Classic, from Cottesloe beach, 2km up to Swanbourne-Nedlands SLSC - the sun was shining and a decent southerly was up by dawn. Sea state was lively indeed but sent us well on our merry way - we know at least one PB was smashed and it doesn't matter to us whether mother nature helped or not!

This was a huge event with over 1,000 participants across the swim, run, Malibu and SUP categories - fabulous vibe and a grand day out all round.

Many thanks to the organisers, helpers and water safety crews making this an awesome event for everyone.
