Caineo swapped out the kart engine for a V8 and a very nice electric motor. Caine attended the Motorsport Australia First Gear course at Norwell Motorplex with his good mate Jensen of Clout Motorsport.
Caine got to drive the Ford GT Mustang and Ford Mach E cars. He got to feel what ABS felt like when slamming on the brakes, compare the difference between a V8 engine and an EV under full throttle. Unsurprisingly he favoured the roar of the 5 litre V8. He got to do a little drifting on their drift pan which included cleaning up some witches hats.
He thoroughly enjoyed himself and it’s really good value. It’s a very affordable introduction to any 12-17 year old who is interested in Motorsport or who just wants to learn how to handle a car better.

Caine had a massive weekend in Bundaberg for the Queensland 4SS State Trophy which was also the final round in Torini’s City to Country series. Caine has been looking forward to defending his Orange Plate and was super keen to take the big trophy home for the second year running but he knew it wasn’t going to be easy.
Friday was a practice day and we spent the time getting the kart and Caine ready for the weekend’s racing. At the end of the day Caine had beaten his PB and was feeling confident.
Saturday morning began with an official practice but unfortunately during the session a kart spun in front of Caine. Both karts were damaged and Caine got a bent rear axle. Luckily for us the Legend Paul Ludbey was able to get the axle fixed before Qualifying.
Qualifying. Caine finished in P1
Race 1. Caine started in pole position but wasn’t able to hold the lead through turn 1 to his mate Zade. He and Zade battled throughout the race with lead changing between them. Caine started the last lap in the lead but got passed in turn 1. He stuck with the kart in front and on the second last corner took a late turn in with a tighter exit out of this medium speed corner which got him the inside line to the last corner. Caine won the race by 0.106 seconds.
Race 2. Caine started on pole but lost the lead and was never able to get back in front. He felt the kart never gave him a chance to compete for the win. After the race we again visited Paul and he helped get the kart ready for the next race.
Race 3. From pole position Caine controlled the race from start to finish. He won the race with the second and third place getters just 0.1 and 0.3 seconds behind him.
The 4SS State Trophy is a race points round which means that every race counts towards who will win the event versus just the Final determining the winner. Caine now knew that if he got one more win and a second place then he’d win the title again.
Race 4. This race and the next would also count points for the Torini City to Country series. Starting from pole position Caine made a small mistake out of turn 1 which put him into second. For the next two laps he followed Zade until Zade hit the kerb in the fastest corner of the track sending Zade sliding sideways through the dirt. Zade got back on track but Caine was now comfortably in the lead with his other good mate Jensen now in second place. The race was now focused on who would come second with Jensen and Zade punching out fast laps. Unfortunately for Jensen the race was one lap too long and Zade was able to get back to second.
Caine now had a good lead in the points standings and would just need to bring the kart home in decent position to win the title.
Race 5. Though Caine knew he just needed to bring it home for the Trophy win he wanted to put an emphasis on it. He had another great battle with Zade with the boys swapping the lead multiple times. Caine got into the lead with about 3 laps to go and held it to get the win by 0.111 seconds.

He is again the Queensland 4SS State Trophy winner and he get’s to run the Orange plate on his kart in 4SS for the next 12 months. He is also the winner of Torini’s 4SS City to Country series.

Congratulations to Zade of Sturgess Racing Team on his 2nd place in the State title on his first attempt. Congratulations to Jensen of Clout Motorsport and Ty Bradley on coming second and third respectively in the City to Country series.

Thank you to Jen and Connor for coming out to support and all our friends around the track for supporting Caine. Lastly a massive shoutout to Paul Ludbey for your help on Caine’s kart, we’re not sure if Caine would’ve had the kart underneath him to fight for his win.

A big day of Endurance racing with Jensen. Enduro racing is a different ball game. Getting the drivers and equipment to last the whole race is a massive challenge. Thank you Clout Motorsport for inviting us to team up with you.

Catching up on the last few race meetings…
Caine raced in Auskart’s Round 5 at Bundaberg Kart Club. Caine Qualified first and won all four races though he copped a heavy 10 second penalty in the Final. He won the round but more importantly had a fun weekend with his mates.
Caine then ran Torini’s 4SS City to Country at Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club. He qualified second, won race 1, 2nd in race 2 and won the final 2 races. His results put him on the top step of the podium.
Next he’ll be racing with Auskart at Ipswich Kart club. He’ll be doing qualifying plus 5 sprint races on the Saturday. On the Sunday he’ll be pairing up with his mate Jensen from Clout Motorsport in the 3 hour enduro. Let’s hope his neck can hold out!

Something new for Caineo. He got a post race interview after winning the final at Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club. He won the day and extended his lead in Torini’s City to Country Championship.
He also won a set of tyres in the random draw, plus he got an SP Tools fluid transfer pump as a prize for making it onto the top step of the podium. He had a fun day with great results.

A tough slog in the kart at Torinis City Country series at Warwick Kart Club. Caineo started feeling unwell Thursday night and had a high temperature Friday morning. He slept most of Friday and Saturday still with a high temperature. He still insisted that he was going to race on the Sunday. Due to him being sick we skipped going to Warwick on the Saturday to get him and the kart dialed in.
At the 4:30am wake up call on Sunday morning his temperature was only just a little warmer than normal. He was nowhere near a 100% but he said there was no way that he wasn’t going to race. He grabbed a little more sleep on the early morning drive to Warwick
Arrival at Warwick saw the temperature around 0 degrees and a super slippery track.
Caine and many other drivers had trouble staying on the track in qualifying but Caine managed to qualify P1 on his last lap.
Race 1 finished P4
Race 2, 3 & 4 he finished P1
He finished the day P1 and extended his slim lead in the City Country Series.
Caine showed a lot of grit and determination after being sick and racing while still not being 100%. He still had a lot of fun and enjoyed hanging out with his friends, which is what it is all about.

It’s always fun at Warwick Kart Club but it was doubly so with Jay pulling on a helmet and entering his first race meeting. After camping out at the track on the Friday night and waking up to a fresh 0 degree morning both drivers were keen to get into their suits on to try and stay warm.

It was a consistent weekend for Caine as he qualified second and came second in all four races. He drove cleanly and consistently but never quite had ultimate pace. Caine is looking forward to next weekend at Lismore.

Jay’s first race weekend was pretty decent with his aim to be in the top half of the field by the end of the weekend. He qualified 11th out of 19, but started 13th on the grid due to two classes being mixed. Race1: Jay finished his first race 9th in class. Race 2 was unfortunately cut short with a dropped chain putting him out in lap 2. Race 3: Jay started 22nd due to not finishing race 2 but got up to 12th before being taken out by a kart turning right at a left hand turn on the last lap. This meant another DNF. Race 4: starting in 23rd Jay worked his way up to 9th in the combined field but was 7th in class. Jay had a lot of fun and a massive thank you to Max Revs Racing for providing the kart for the weekend.

A fun weekend at Cooloola Coast Kart Club competing in Torini’s 4SS City to Country Series. Round 2 saw Caineo win the weekend but he didn’t have it all his own way. His good mate Max was super fast and pipped him in qualifying and also took out a race win which saw Max taking the second place spot. It was also great to see Jensen take out 3rd place with our crew filling up the podium.
