Community sport plays an important role in helping people stay active, connected, and healthy.

Yet only 24.5% of Victorians aged 15 years and over meet the recommended physical activity guidelines, with participation even lower among culturally diverse and First Peoples communities.

Creating a welcoming club doesn’t always require big changes. Often, it’s the everyday actions that have the greatest impact – welcoming new members,
creating opportunities for connection, celebrating diversity, listening to different
perspectives and making everyone feel like they belong.

Every positive interaction helps shape a stronger club culture and creates more
opportunities for people to experience the many benefits of community sport.
