Steady as she goes for James O’Malley and Jono Forrest at Ada 👌

At the NSWRC Classification at SS5, O’Malley sits sixth in Heat Two aboard the Toyota 86, with plenty still to play for in a rally that can really shuffle the championship order. With three heats on offer and big points up for grabs, a clean push through the back end could be worth its weight in gravel.

After banking fifth outright and first RWD at Rally of the Bay, the O’Malley crew is keeping themselves right in the fight. No fireworks needed yet, just keep the 86 pointing straight-ish and the pace coming 😄

James O’Malley is settling into Ada River… sort of. 😅

We caught up with James at the refuel to see how he was finding the stages, and the answer was still very much a work in progress.

A stage later, we caught him again at service for another chat about the roads, the rhythm of the rally and how the day is unfolding.

Service park scenes at Ada 👌

The whole O’Malley crew is on the tools after Heat 1, giving James O’Malley and Jono Forrest’s Toyota 86 the once-over before the next hit-out. Looks like James is settling in nicely, and with plenty still on the table in this three-heat format, Heat 2 could get very interesting 🔧🚗💨

Bonus points for the smallest crew member already repping the team kit 😄

James O’Malley and Jono Forrest are settling in nicely at Ada, sitting sixth in the NSWRC field after SS2 aboard the Toyota 86 👌

After a strong run at Rally of the Bay, the 86 crew look right in the fight again and with plenty of points on offer today, every stage matters. Early days yet, but sixth after two on these Noojee roads is a tidy way to get the job started.

A long way from home, but ready for the challenge. 👊

We caught up with James O’Malley this morning before the start of the Draper’s Civil Contracting Ada River Rally to chat about the event, the trip south to Noojee and what he’s looking forward to most today.

James comes into Ada with some good momentum after a strong result at Rally of the Bay, and with valuable Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship points on offer across the three heats, there’s plenty to play for.

James O'Malley and Jono Forrest are all smiles in the Ada service park as the Toyota 86 gets set for a big Victorian debut for the crew 👌

For James, this is his first event outside NSW, and he’s not exactly complaining about a crack at the damp Victorian roads. Bold strategy? Maybe. Fun strategy? Absolutely 😄

With 75 NSWRC points on offer across the three-heat format, Ada could be a proper championship shaker, and O'Malley comes in with a chance to make some serious gains.
