Another great day for Island Board Riders, kicking off our first—and only—handicap competition for 2026.

Despite the cold conditions and challenging high tides, it was an awesome event with a strong field of 19 competitors. It was fantastic to see some new faces in the mix, along with plenty of young surfers stepping up and giving it a go—exactly what the club is all about.

A great start to Island Board Riders’ 10th year.

While conditions weren’t firing, the sun was out and it made for a fun, relaxed day for Round 1 of the 2026 Club Championship. We had 27 surfers in the draw, including plenty of first-timers—an excellent turnout and great to see the next generation getting involved.

Island Board Riders – Round 1 Draw 🔥

Club Championship kicks off tomorrow at Vivonne Bay.

We’ve got 26 surfers competing, with the majority of the field under 18 — a great showing for the next generation coming through.
