Not every argument deserves your intelligence, energy, or time.
A meaningful discussion requires two people who are willing to listen, question themselves, and follow reason wherever it leads. But when someone enters a conversation determined only to win, facts become irrelevant and logic becomes useless.
You can explain yourself perfectly and still be misunderstood by someone committed to misunderstanding you.
That's the lesson behind this quote.
Wisdom isn't proving that you're right in every disagreement. Sometimes wisdom is recognizing when the conversation stopped being productive and having enough self-control to walk away.
Your peace is worth more than winning an argument with someone who refuses to play by the same rules of reason.
You don't have to attend every argument you're invited to.
Sometimes the strongest response is silence.
Sometimes the smartest move is simply leaving the board.
