Today’s game is certainly something special.
Today’s game against Greenock Cricket Club - The Schlungers represents the chook plate game. Where both teams come together in a game of remembrance for Henry Chook Deren.
Chooka played 99 games for Greenock when he lived there.
When he moved to Truro ( after selling the Stocky pub) he played for us for 80 games.
He loved our cricket family enviorment, our jovial inclusion & would always volunteer to help our club. Just like he did when he played for Greenock.
He was a great opening batsman, and a great spin bowler, but most of all a jovial, fun and loving player that would bring all players together even if there was a bad day.
During his time at Truro Cricket Club, he scored 2 x100s, and got a few 5x4s.
He was an extremely valuable member at both ours and Greenocks beautiful club.
He is forever in all of our hearts, and will always be remembered.
