This was the last colour of the Fishing Warehouse order. Still one of my favourites and also in one of my favourite lures. This order has been extremely popular, so much so that over half the order sold within 48 hours. Another order is in the works but will be a few months away. Another of my favourite timbers to use is Milky Pine (Alstonia scholaris).
It's a very easy timber to use and has great properties for lure making, however, it is very inconsistent and it's colour varies greatly even in a single lure body. This lure is probably the most consistent piece I've seen and is going to make a fantastic lure.
It's not quiet as dense as the average piece of red cedar, but it's denser and stronger than balsa. This makes it great for weight sensitive and technical lures like glide baits. It's very affordable and readily available locally so it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

One of the last colours in the Fishing Warehouse order.
A bit unconventional, but I've had a lot of success using a coral trout coloured lure for Barra. The orange/gold/red looks really good in stained water, and no one has told a Barra that they can't eat a trout.

The next colour in the Fishing Warehouse order. I wanted something dark, but still visible by the angler. I think the bright orange and black combination is under rated and is a great option for contrast situations. There is only a couple of options in this colour so if you want it, don't wait.

210mm herring in a natural baitfish colour. This lure will be perfect for in the stocked impoundments slowly gliding over some weedbeds. Built tough to handle the size fish that will be eating this thing.
This colour, and lure, is the next colour for the Fishing Warehouse order and will be in store soon.

80mm deep Jerkbait is a great lure for just about anything worth catching in an estuary. With a slow float as standard they can be twitched slowly through timber just like in this video and sit in the strike zone for longer for when the fish are shut down. Also, don't let the size fool you, they are made to handle the heavy gauge hooks required to pull big Barra from the structure.

The importance of weighting lure parts individually is the key to a good, consistent action.
These two tail pieces are both the same, yet one requires nearly 0.7g more weight than the other. Timber variation is the biggest factor here, along with small differences in the shaping process. That's the beauty of handmade timber.

130mm herring sent to a customer down south. This build features a Red Cedar construction, heavy duty wiring, my favourite colour pattern and it's balanced to use the customers requested hooks.
This colour is also the next on the Fishing Warehouse order.
