🦈 TTSSC CLUB EVENT #2 – NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! 🧡💜

Welcome to Townsville Tiger Sharks Swimming Club’s second Club Event for the 2026/27 season! 🦈🏊‍♀️

📍 Cathedral Pool
📅 Saturday 5 September
🔥 Warm-up: 2:30pm
🏁 Racing starts: 3:00pm

Nominations are now OPEN on Swim Central!

🏊‍♂️ How many events can swimmers enter?

To make sure swimmers have plenty of opportunities to race while keeping the session manageable:

Session 1: Maximum 5 events
Session 2: Maximum 1 event

➡️ This gives swimmers a maximum of 6 events across the two sessions.

📣 NOMINATIONS CLOSE WEDNESDAY 2 SEPTEMBER AT 6:00PM

Please don't leave your nominations until the last minute!

🦈 NEW SEASON MEMBERSHIPS

If your swimmer doesn't yet have their 2026/27 Townsville Tiger Sharks membership organised, now is the time to get this sorted.

You'll need a current membership to nominate for club events, so please make sure this is organised before nominations close.

Coach Matt arrived home late last night, and mentioned we needed to check the splits of the SC first leg for records for the swims from our little legends over the weekend at State SC.

Turns out Marsie claimed another 3 club records and Dom equalled the record in 25 Fly of his big Bro Filip!

🦈💜 STATE SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS – WHAT A WAY TO FINISH! 🧡🦈

What an incredible 3 days of racing for our two Tiger Sharks representatives, Dominik and Marselle, at the Queensland State Short Course Championships in Brisbane!

Both swimmers have absolutely smashed it, and we couldn't be prouder! 🔥

🏊‍♂️ DOMINIK – WHAT A WAY TO FINISH!

Dom had 3 swims on Day 2, producing PBs in his 50m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly.

And he saved his absolute best for last…

🔥 100m Butterfly – MASSIVE 5.54 SECOND PB! 🔥

Dom followed his race plan to a tee and put together an absolute cracker of a swim, finishing 18th in the state – a phenomenal result at this level! 💪

Coach Matt was absolutely stoked with the swim, and you couldn't wipe the smile off Dom's face afterwards! 😁

And there was even more to celebrate…

🏆 3 NEW CLUB RECORDS for Dom across the meet!

That 100m Butterfly record is going to be a seriously tough one for future Tiger Sharks to chase down! 🦈🔥

🚀🦈 MARSELLE THE MISSILE – ABSOLUTELY ON FIRE! 🧡💜

Marsie continued her incredible championships with a huge swim in the 50m Backstroke on Day 2, taking nearly 2 seconds off her PB! 🔥

Then this morning, she wrapped up her meet with another massive performance in the 50m Breaststroke, taking more than 2 seconds off her PB!

Across her 5 events, Marsie finished with:

💥 4 BIG PBs
💥 1 equal PB
💥 4 NEW CLUB RECORDS!

And one of those records was particularly special…

🏆 Marsie broke the 8-year-old 50m Breaststroke club record, previously held by original Tiger Sharks member Sophia Britton.

What an achievement! 👏🦈

Marsie has been absolutely on fire across these championships. Coach Matt is so proud of the way she approaches every race – executing her race plans, stepping up when it matters and continually finding ways to improve.

She is a joy to coach and a real leader within our club, and we can't wait to see what this legend can produce for the rest of the season! 🔥🧡💜

Coach Matt and the entire TTSSC team are incredibly proud of both Dom and Marsie.

They have represented Townsville Tiger Sharks with determination, composure and plenty of fight, and they've shown exactly what happens when hard work, preparation and belief come together.

7 new club records between them, countless PBs and some seriously impressive racing at State level.
