Last night was one of those moments that reminds us all that football is just a game.

After finishing up another night and morning of dedication to kids footy for the weekend, I can honestly say I am incredibly relieved that Luca is doing well.

Seeing any child injured is difficult, but when you witness a young player lying motionless with a suspected spinal injury, it has an emotional impact on everyone involved— unimaginable for parents, shocking for teammates, coaches, volunteers, officials and spectators alike.

Today has shown me what our football community is truly about. The care, concern and genuine support shown for Luca and his family has been overwhelming.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who reached out. Members from the Curra Swans, Thuringowa Bulldogs and Hermit Park Tigers all came up to me throughout the day, sent messages to our club and asked how Luca was doing. Those simple acts of kindness mean plenty.

Moments like these remind us that while we wear different colours on game day, we are one football family. Rivalries disappear, and what matters most is looking after one another.

On behalf of our club, thank you to everyone who checked in, offered support and kept Luca in your thoughts.

We're all looking forward to seeing Luca back doing what he loves when the time is right.

Awesome season! Really really competitive bunch of kids in both age groups and it’s been a pleasure to coach them. Really looking forward to getting stuck into next year already!

🏉 Jake Spencer Cup – This Friday! 🏉

This Friday marks the end of the 2026 season as our kids head to Murray Stadium for the annual Jake Spencer Cup.

Last training:
📅 Tuesday
🕟 4:30pm

Friday Schedule:
⛴️ 4:30pm – Sealink ferry departs Nelly Bay
🚌 Bus transfer to Murray Stadium

Game Times

Under 9s
• 5:30pm
• 6:30pm
• 7:30pm

Under 11s
• 6:00pm
• 7:00pm
• 8:00pm

After the final games, the team bus will depart Murray Stadium at 8:45pm to connect with the 9:20pm Sealink ferry back to Magnetic Island.

Let's finish the season with plenty of teamwork, sportsmanship and Magpie pride.
We look forward to seeing all our players and families there for a fantastic night of footy!

2-Hour Sunset Cruises

Duration:5pm - 7pm (2 hours)

Unwind with a welcome drink, individual antipasto platter, live music and spectacular sunset views across the Townsville and Magnetic Island coastline.

Price - $115 adult and $115 child (5-14 years)



Orpheus Island Day Tour
Dates: Saturday 19th September and Saturday 17 October 2026
Duration: 8am - 3pm (8 hours)
Escape to one of North Queensland's hidden gems and enjoy a scenic cruise through the Palm Island Group, lunch, pristine beaches, a self-guided nature walk and optional snorkelling.

Price - $185 adult, $135 child (5-14 years) and Free of Charge for Infants (0-4 years)



These experiences are a fantastic way to explore the beauty of our region, whether it's spotting humpback whales in the wild, enjoying a relaxing sunset on the water, or escaping to the pristine beaches of Orpheus Island.
