Winter time on Lake Cooby: Nice to be back on the water. it's been a few weeks. Wind was reported to be reasonable today around 15klm from the east. Definitely not my preferred direction but when you get a chance to fish you take what nature delivers. Quite gusty at times and fishing a patch of shallow w**d that proved fruitful in the past was not an option today. With me today was Peter McScooter, a regular to Cooby and we arrived at 7.00am and fish until 12.00pm. I made the decision to head across to the eastern side near reflections running the Cooby Cobba deep diving Mighty-Mite in saffhire colour on a very short line proved succesfull. Three 42cm yellows hit the deck, bite time around 10:00am to 11:00 am, then hard to entice any interest before or after that. Nice quality Cooby yellows all released and caught in shallow water around 2.4m. Even in winter the shallow w**d beds hold fish as they forage for food in the warmer water around the edges. Thanks Peter for your company, nice day on the local. Until next time tight lines.
