Winter time on Lake Cooby: Nice to be back on the water. it's been a few weeks. Wind was reported to be reasonable today around 15klm from the east. Definitely not my preferred direction but when you get a chance to fish you take what nature delivers. Quite gusty at times and fishing a patch of shallow w**d that proved fruitful in the past was not an option today. With me today was Peter McScooter, a regular to Cooby and we arrived at 7.00am and fish until 12.00pm. I made the decision to head across to the eastern side near reflections running the Cooby Cobba deep diving Mighty-Mite in saffhire colour on a very short line proved succesfull. Three 42cm yellows hit the deck, bite time around 10:00am to 11:00 am, then hard to entice any interest before or after that. Nice quality Cooby yellows all released and caught in shallow water around 2.4m. Even in winter the shallow w**d beds hold fish as they forage for food in the warmer water around the edges. Thanks Peter for your company, nice day on the local. Until next time tight lines.

Spin Twins at it again: Venturing out for another session chasing some natives. Joey and Brayden using a combination of Cooby Cobba Spinner Baits and hard bodied lures came up trumps again. Casting the lures to structure and drop off managed to catch and release some quality fish, including some double hook-ups. Nice work again lads honing your casting skills around tight structure. Thanks for sharing, tight lines.

Working Cooby shallow banks: Another short run to Cooby a couple of days ago with my good mate Murray fished the same w**d bank we fished a couple of times before. Slow going with a strong easterly blowing. However managed three nice yellows on the ever faithful "Saffhire" Deep Diving "Mighty-Mite" two caught in a similar spot and I kicked a field goal near the boat ramp coming back in. Bite time started to happen as we were leaving but due to earlier closing times, we had to leave. Until next time tight lines.

Cooby resent catches: A couple of locals out fishing on the dam the last couple of days sent in a pic of their success using the Cooby Cobba lures. Thanks Peter and Tim for sharing. A phone call from Tim while out at the dam asking for some tips proved successful, catching some nice yellows while following the triple "S" theory. Tim's fish came on a deep diving Bass Trap in "Blue Cray" colour. Peter using his go to Mighty Mite in "Saffhire" colour caught a quality yellow. Again lads thanks for flying the flag. Cheers, tight lines

Toga off the surface: Golden memories are made of this, young Jaxx out with his dad at Cania Dam and caught his first Saratoga on a Cooby Cobba Surface Walker. A quality 78cm model, a memory that will surely lasts a lifetime. Congratulations Jaxx a sterling effort. A new surface walker heading your way shortly for catching a trophy fish. Thanks Justin for sharing this Golden moment. Tight lines team Cooby Cobba

Come In Spinner: Well the lads are at it again, doing what they love. Fishing local creeks and rivers, casting lures to likely snags and drop offs. Joey, Brayden and Noah fished one of their favorite spots using a combination off Cooby Cobba Spinner Baits and Cooby Cobba hard bodies.Spinner Baits were the stand out on the day. The biggest for the day was a quality 91cm model caught on a spinner bait by Joey. Brayden managed a nice 60 cm model on a 60mm Cooby Cobba in "Condamine Yellow" colour. A few yellows caught as well. Some pics of their success, thanks lads for sharing. Tight Lines.

Another time, same place, similar result: Some footage of a trip a few weeks ago where we boated seven quality Yellows. Interestingly we fished the same w**d bed where Murray and I caught 12 nice fish a couple of days prior. Following the triple"S" theory and using the Cooby Cobba deep diving 'Mighty-Mite" we had a great time feeling the Cooby Yellows smashing the lures. Hope you enjoy, feel free to comment, appreciate your input. Cheers and tight lines.

"One Dozen Cooby Goldens" video. This video taken at Cooby Dam on18th April fishing with good mate Murray.A red hot session boating 12 quality yellows 11 coming in one golden hour. All fish released. A bit shaky but with the action was coming fast we tried to record most of the action. Hope you enjoy and maybe pick up a few tips on fishing this great little impoundment. How lucky are we to have this dam open for all to enjoy, a pristine environment, electric motors only that only adds to the tranquility of this great part of Toowoomba. Feel free to comment on your own experiences, cheers

Honey hole delivers: A late afternoon run to Cooby today with Kel didn't disappoint. Seven nice yellows caught and released. sizes fairly consistent ranging from 38cm to 42cm. Running the Cooby Cobba deep diving Mighty- Mites over shallow w**d beds ( 3 to 4m) "Saffhire" recording most of the fish. This colour works well in all conditions, bright sunlight ,cloudy and twilight leading into darkness. Yellows really love them. Nice to share the day with good mate Kel. Entered up with one rod tip busted, trying to retrieve a solid yellow from the w**d bed in windy conditions after a double hook up. If you are heading out, why not try running some Cooby Cobba lures over the shallow w**d beds. Video from today's catch will post in a few days, Until next time tight lines.
