Important Announcement from Nepalese Association of Toowoomba

With a very heavy heart, the Nepalese Association of Toowoomba (NAT) would like to inform our community that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our NAT Teej Celebration 2026, scheduled for 11 September 2026 at Harristown State School.

Nepal is currently facing a devastating flash flood, with many lives at risk and families and communities going through an extremely difficult time. Our hearts are with everyone affected by this tragedy, especially those who have lost their loved ones, homes and livelihoods.

At this difficult moment, we believe this is not the right time to celebrate while our homeland and our people are suffering. Teej is a festival of togetherness, love and happiness, and we feel that our celebration should wait until we can celebrate with a lighter heart.

We sincerely apologise to everyone who was looking forward to this year's Teej celebration, including our performers, volunteers, sponsors, guests and the wider community. We truly appreciate your understanding and support.

Instead, let us stand together as one Nepalese community and support Nepal during this difficult time. 🇳🇵❤️

Our thoughts, prayers, and solidarity are with Nepal.

नेपालमा हालै आएको विनाशकारी बाढी तथा त्यसबाट उत्पन्न गम्भीर मानवीय पीडा र शोकपूर्ण परिस्थितिप्रति गहिरो संवेदना व्यक्त गर्दै 4 September मा आयोजना गर्ने तयारी गरिएको श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी विशेष भजन कार्यक्रम रद्द गरिएको जानकारी गराउन चाहन्छौँ।

यस दुःखद घटनामा ज्यान गुमाउनुहुने सम्पूर्ण दिवंगत आत्माप्रति हार्दिक श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गर्दै शोकसन्तप्त परिवारजनप्रति गहिरो समवेदना व्यक्त गर्दछौँ। साथै, बाढीका कारण बेपत्ता हुनुभएका सम्पूर्ण व्यक्तिहरू सकुशल फेला परून् भनी भगवानसँग हार्दिक प्रार्थना गर्दछौँ।

यस कठिन घडीमा हाम्रो सम्पूर्ण ध्यान, शक्ति र सहयोग बाढीपीडितहरू तथा उहाँहरूका परिवारको सहयोग, राहत र मनोबल बढाउने कार्यमा केन्द्रित रहनेछ। पीडित परिवारहरूले धैर्य, साहस, शक्ति र शान्ति प्राप्त गरून् भन्ने हाम्रो हार्दिक कामना छ।

भगवद्गीतामा भगवान श्रीकृष्ण भन्नुहुन्छ—

तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः।
(भगवद्गीता २:३७)

अर्थ: त्यसैले हे कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन! उठ र आफ्नो कर्तव्य पूरा गर्न दृढ निश्चयका साथ अघि बढ।

आजको यस कठिन परिस्थितिमा भगवान् श्रीकृष्णले अर्जुनलाई दिनुभएको सन्देशले हामी सबैलाई दुःख र विपत्तिको सामना गर्दै साहस, एकता र दृढ सङ्कल्पका साथ पुनः उठ्न तथा पीडितहरूको सहयोगमा अघि बढ्न प्रेरणा दिन्छ।

🙏 यस विपत्तिको घडीमा हामी सबै एकजुट बनौँ, पीडितको साथ दिऔँ र मानवताको सेवामा आफ्नो योगदान पुर्‍याऔँ।
