Information for the 130th Annual Tolmie Sports Day -13th Feb.2016

The Tolmie Sports Association will hold our 2026 AGM Sunday July 12th at 1.30pm.

A BBQ lunch will held from 12noon to come together, our Committee Members, our outgoing Committee Legends and our volunteers across our TSA Community.

Expressions of interest for any Executive Committee roles are invited to email the Secretary Stevie at [email protected] for further information.
We welcome additional members to join our team, working towards the 140th historic Tolmie Sports Day February 13th 2027.

We know how time poor & busy most volunteers are so we are also welcoming
sub-committee teams for those unable to fully commit - to begin work on various areas such as;

•Vendor or Market Stall Holder Liaison
•OHS
•Entertainment bookings
•Novelty events such as Raffles, Spinning wheels, guessing competitions
•Major event planning such as Dog Jump, NEBAA Axemen Comp, ‘Back to’ Teams, Historical Displays,
•Tearooms and BBQ sites
•Coordination of Event resources
•Working bee & site management planning
• and much more for

An event such as our Tolmie Sports takes a village of team players to pull together, come join us 🪓🏇

The TSA will hold it’s next monthly General Meeting next Thursday June 4 at 7pm. We are looking forward to our AGM in July and currently recruiting our 2027 TSD Committee to plan and prepare for the 140th Event on February 13th. The TSA will hold it’s next General Meeting this coming Thursday Night 7pm at the Tolmie Mechanics Institute & online.
The TSA welcome members of the Community to consider joining our committee at our upcoming AGM (date tbc)
2027 will see the 140th Tolmie Sports Day & we welcome many more hands to plan & hold this historic event.

Vale TSA Life Member Niall Reidy
The Tolmie Sports Association are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Life Member, Niall Reidy.
The cheeky man behind our iconic Bash The Rat Children’s Novelty. Niall created the amusement that has continued on at our Tolmie Sports Day for decades, and a treasured memory for the young and young at heart attending each Sports Day.
Niall was never short of a limerick, and was only recently was unable to attend in person due to ill health.
Our sincere condolences are with Niall’s family members, dear friends and the Tolmie Community.
The celebration of Niall’s life will be held tomorrow at 2pm, Wednesday 8th April at Mansfield Uniting Church.

The TSA would like to thank the Mansfield team from Cycling Without Age. The Tri Shaw was utilised on our 139th Tolmie Sports Day to offer a unique mode of transport across the grounds - and it was so much fun & a delight to the TSA committee to see the joy it brought to so many. As a Not For Profit & funded service we would like to promote these amazing volunteers for travelling up to the Tolmie Sports on their Saturday. We are excited to have the team locked in for 202

The TSA would like to thank our volunteer First Aid Officers, Bianca and Ty for their support at the 139th Tolmie Sports Day.
The pair have been supporting our event for many years arriving to set up first aid response & being on hand all day at the outdoor first aid marquee, and overseeing all issues that arise across the grounds.
This year we also had a data base of extra support at times from a wide range of Nurses, Acute Care Nurse, Emergency Responsers and First Aiders - we thank you all as well for your individual time given.

A big thank you to everyone coming along today joining the TSA to unpack Tolmie Sports Day 2025. We truely appreciate feedback from all our Coordinators and volunteers that support us, and the annual event. We have a lot of work ahead to deliver a brilliant 140th TSD next February 13th, 2027 but are super excited to continue building on our event. Save the date it’s going to be fabulous 🐎🪓

2026 TSD Recovery meeting is being held tomorrow: RSVP’s from community members outside the TSA would be appreciated for bbq catering. BBQ 12noon - Meetings will run from 1pm, finishing with a general TSA meeting.

Next Sunday March 22nd the TSA will be holding our post event Recovery Meeting, as well as a short Special General meeting.
Our Recovery meeting will begin at 1pm following a BBQ lunch together at the Recreation Reserve. The meetings will be held in the Tolmie Camp Kitchen, and our Recovery Meeting will look a little different kept to a TSA President Report & Coordinator Reports. Our SGM will hold a vote regarding our CAV Model Rules, and a General Meeting will be held afterward for Committee Members. RSVP’s welcome for catering purposes.
