Our key events are locked in for our 140th Tolmie Sports Day on February 13th, 2027.

🪓NEBAA Championship Axe events in the Whitland’s Superaxe Arena
🏇 Tolmie Equestrian Events & Barrel Racing
🐕 Tolmie Dog Jumping Competition
And, we will see the return of Cam (sincs) Sinclair bringing the motorbikes back for a huge mid afternoon show 🏍️

Winners of a 2026 Community Impact Program Grant!

Thank you to Community Bank Mansfield & District for supporting our communities with funding for projects such as our heritage restoration on Val Kirley’s Equestrian Hut.

Mike & Stevie were proud to accept the funding cheque on behalf of TSA at the recent
Community Impact Program Celebration, Mansfield Golf Club with members of the CBM&D.

We are delighted to have been announced recipients of a grant to maintain ‘Val Kirley’s Equestrian Hut’ with minor repairs to the heritage building, which has been a part of the Tolmie Sports Day event for decades.
Thank you to all that voted for our project that aims to restore the hut in keeping with it’s traditional look for many more Tolmie Sports Day’s to come. Thanks to Mike & Stevie for attending the event on behalf of Tolmie Sports Association.

The Tolmie Sports Association had a very successful AGM today introducing 6 new General Committee Members & a new Executive Committee Team.
We also thanked outgoing committee members Janet Downing & Sarah MacDonald who we are extremely grateful for all their efforts across 16 & 2 year terms. We look forward to still having them on board with Danny & David as volunteers supporting the TSA & TSD and local community.
The 2026/27 Executive Committee are;

Vice President Mike Rand
Secretary Stevie Polkinghorne
Treasurer Lisbeth Wilson
We welcome the team back & are excited to have Mike on board. Mike has been extremely valuable to the TSA behind the scenes and deservedly should be included on our Committee, with his values of fairness and respect to the event and support of our Tolmie community.
The 2026/27 General Committee include returning members Mary Reilly, Paul Barlow, Jess Andrews and we welcome Tara Corrigan, Alex Walker, Beth Young, Maria Walsh and Jenny Kirley.

One quarter of our 2026/27 Committee are G.Granddaughter’s of Tolmie ‘Glen Tilt’ Pioneers James and Ada Stewart, Jenny, Maria & Belinda - how fabulous for continuing the Tolmie Sports Day tradition 🪓🏇🐕🏍️

TSA 2026 Treasurer: A second year in the role, Lisbeth Wilson has also put in a power of work every month, and an incredible commitment across the Tolmie Sports Day. Not many patrons or volunteers would see the amount of work the Treasurer puts in on event day - which requires lots of treats across the afternoon 🤭Lis took over the reigns from Janet in a smooth transition and has now experienced 2 sports days in the biggest role of the day. When not doing the books’ or at work nursing, Lis is usually on horseback around the district or enjoying the Recreation Reserve camping as her down time, as many have enjoyed with their horses for over a century. It doesn’t take long to fall in love with the Tolmie landscape & resources at the grounds. We look forward to many more laughs with Lis on the TSA committee and utilising her skills particularly in systems, policy & procedure, OHS & first aid, and more recently working with the TSA & new laws in place around wellbeing of volunteers and creating safe & respectful practices.

TSA 2026 Secretary: A power of work is completed behind the scenes by Stevie-Lee Polkinghorne all year long, for every meeting and on Tolmie Sports Day.
Stevie has spent the last 2 years taking on this role, and will continue on again into 2027.
The TSA committee acknowledge all the ongoing work completed by Stevie and look forward to another successful year ahead.
Stevie was also our 2025/26 Vice President, is working with the TSA to secure grant funding opportunities and policies to ensure safe practices for the wellbeing of our committee and volunteers.

As advertised, our TSA AGM is tomorrow Sunday 12th July at 1.30pm in the Tolmie Mechanics Institute Hall. All are welcome.
Any community members are welcome to attend, and join our committee or fulfil a volunteer role as we work toward the 140th Tolmie Sports Day in 2027. For Committee registration forms please email [email protected].
The current committee extend an invitation to join us from 12noon for a BBQ lunch together prior, and thank our outgoing committee members for their time on TSA.

TSA What’s on - School holidays are s great time to wander around the Tolmie district exploring. The Recreation Reserve welcomes campers & visitors, with bbq & camp kitchen facilities, showers & toilets, playground and fire pits across the grounds. The Tolmie Community Social Club opens Sunday & Thursday evenings & in a few weeks the new owners of the Tolmie Tavern will open the iconic pub.
