Congratulations to our young walker, Carly, for being part of the WA team for the National Racewalking Championships which was held this weekend in Ballarat. What a wonderful experience for Carly and her family.

With the roaring success of the Aussie Track and Field athletes at the recent Commonwealth Games, we are very excited for the 2026/2027 summer season of athletics to commence.

Some things to consider,

- Pre season training for the new season will start on
TUESDAY 15th SEPTEMBER.
- Training will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:30pm at the oval of the South Thornlie Primary School.
- Registrations will open for the new season from Tuesday, 1st September, more details to follow.
- Please organise any Kidspot vouchers ASAP because they can take a while to process.
- Any new athletes may trial TWO FREE training sessions.
- Most importantly, the motto of Little A's is
FAMILY FUN FITNESS!

Athletics West have recently released the dates for the upcoming winter season, with the first cross country event being Saturday, 23rd May and the first road walking event being Saturday 30th May.
Locations for all cross country and road walking events will be released in due time and just a reminder that if your child previously registered for the summer season, they are not requited to reregister for the winter season as their fees cover both seasons. If one national silver medal wasn't enough for Deklan, he earnt a second one today at the Australian Athletics Junior Chmapionships in the U14 boys shotput, Well done, Deklan, on an incredible finish to a sensational season of athletics.

Well done to our four athletes who competed in the 2026 ALAC meet in Brisbane over the last two days. A new experience for them all, to not only represent WA but to be one of the best in their age group for their events.

Special mention goes to our talented thrower, Deklan, for winning an individual silver in the U13 boys shotput and for also achieving a huge PB by throwing over 14 metres. Unbelievable Deklan!

Another special mention goes to our sprinter, Leon, for earning two relay medals, a silver in the U12 boys medley relay and a bronze in the U12 boys 4 x 100 relay.

Proud is an understatement!
