Game Day Report - Round One, Tumut
🔵🔴⚪️ Temora Tuskers U12s 🔵 🔴 ⚪️

The U12s opened their season with a great mix of energy and enthusiasm, especially with a strong group of newcomers stepping into the side — a really positive sign for the year ahead.

In the first match against Young, the boys and girls took a little time to settle into their structures, but once they found their rhythm, they showed real grit. We went try for try with them, which speaks volumes about the effort and intent across the park. In the end, we fell just short, 22–17, but it was a quality contest and a solid first hit-out.

The second game against Tumut/Albury was always going to test us, particularly with the size and depth of their squad. To our players’ credit, they stuck at it right to the final whistle. The effort, physicality, and willingness to keep competing, even when under pressure, is exactly what we want to see at this stage of the season.

Plenty to build on, and the attitude across both games was spot on.

Game awards went to Chad and Bella — well deserved for their contributions and work rate.

Game Day Report - Round One, Tumut
🔵🔴⚪️ Temora Tuskers U10s 🔵🔴⚪️

After a mixed preseason leading into Round One, the Under 10’s — made up of a great mix of returning players, new faces, and kids stepping up from the Under 8’s — hit the ground running.

Coming up against strong Wagga and Harden outfits, the Tuskers didn’t let it faze them, making both teams work hard for every metre.

In both games, the Tuskers were a little slow to start, allowing Wagga and Harden to score a couple of quick tries early. However, once they switched on, they matched — and at times outscored — the opposition, keeping the crowd entertained with some exciting, free-flowing rugby.

The work rate around the ruck and ball retention was exceptional, led by Milton, Max, and Bryce. Strong ball running and support play from Peyton, Tristan, Wyatt, and Alice created plenty of scoring opportunities and excitement.

Hunter, Lenni, and George took what they learned at training on Friday and applied it well, showing great communication and direction in both defence and attack.

Game Day Report - Round One, Tumut
🔵🔴⚪️ Temora Tuskers U8s 🔵🔴⚪️

Our Tiny Tuskers kicked off the season in great style with two outstanding games, including four players taking the field for the very first time. It was fantastic to see Isla and Lawson showing impressive ball-stealing skills, using their smaller frames to get over the tackled player and turn possession quickly.

Ryall and Mason took the game on with confidence, running in some classy long-range tries and keeping the opposition on the back foot. Across the field, the whole team stepped up. Nash and Henry led the defensive effort with strong tackling and great work at the breakdown, consistently winning the ball back and making valuable metres.

This gave Bella, Flynn and Bailey the chance to really shine, supporting the team with big tackles and impactful plays throughout the day.

Overall, it was a brilliant start to the season—plenty of fun for the kids and great entertainment for the parents.

Game Day Report - Round One, TUMUT
🔵🔴⚪️ Temora Tuskers U16s 🔵🔴⚪️

Numbers may have been a bit light, but the energy certainly wasn’t. Every player turned up ready to have a crack — a great group of mates enjoying their rugby, having a laugh, and building their skills week by week. That’s what this season is all about. And if anyone’s thinking of joining, we’d love to have you!

Game 1 vs Wagga
A big thanks to Wagga for lending us a few players so we could take the field — absolute legends. The boys showed plenty of grit and determination, never giving up despite a tough scoreboard. Final result 48–5, but the effort couldn’t be faulted.

Award Winner: Billy Lawrence

Game 2 vs Albury/Tumut
Backing up for game two with some tired legs, the boys still showed plenty of heart. Cooper H crossed for our only try — celebrated like a match-winner. The team stuck together and kept turning up for each other right to the final whistle. Final score 45–5.

Award Winner: Josh Stewart

Game Day Report - Round One, TUMUT
💙❤️🤍 Temora Tuskers U17s Girls 💙❤️🤍

Game 1 — vs Wagga (Grand Final rematch)
Final score: Our team 29, Wagga 17

Summary:
Coming up against last year’s premiers, the girls dominated from start to finish in a confident season opener. The backs kept the ball moving and the pack defended with intensity, holding Wagga — a side known for heavy scoring — to 17 points. Tries:
Rylee H (2), Sophie B (2), Zali S (1). Conversions: Amarlie M, Zali S.
Player of the match: Zali S.

Game 2 — vs West Wyalong
Final score: Our team 48, West Wyalong 0
(Mercy Rule)

Summary: A relentless performance putting the opposition under extreme pressure. The team maintained structure despite some questionable decisions from the officials. We kept the heat on and made our presence felt until the match was ended early due to a series of serious injuries to the opposition. The squad’s persistence and continual support play were standout features. Player of the match: Rylee H.

Observer's thoughts: For a team that hadn’t trained together as a unit, everyone put in 100%. When we can get full attendance at training and build cohesion, there’s real potential to play very good footy. The players supported and backed each other perfectly across both games.
