RULES EFFECTIVE 1st JULY DRESSAGE RULES USE OF VOICE Dressage Rules Amended to read: 24.1 The use of the rider’s voice during a test is permitted for the purpose of encouraging or rewarding the horse, provided it is appropriate, discreet, and not excessive or continual. Tongue clicking is regarded as a form of vocal aid and is permitted under the same conditions. 24.2 Excessive, inappropriate, or disruptive vocalisation will be treated as an error of test. The judge will stop the test, advise the rider of the breach, and apply a deduction of 2 marks to the relevant movement. Any further occurrences will result in the test being stopped again and additional penalties being applied in accordance with DR 23.3.
