Birthday shout out to Mark Dymock ( #523), who had five brief but highly successful seasons with Waratahs in the second half of the 1980's. An opening bowler worthy of taking a 7fa against Waratahs in 3rd grade, he never the less was a wicketkeeper batsmen of some note. Its the season of 1989-90 which marks him out for the unique and truly remarkable feat of scoring 4 centuries before Christmas across three different grades and then finishing the season with a Premiership in 1sts. These days an esteemed professional in Brisbane, he was also an enthusiastic joiner of The Tahs. Happy days Dymo!

There is just ten days to go until applications close for the 2026 Ian Campbell Scholarship (Ian Campbell pictured) and as yet, we have received only one application.
It seems staggering that there are not more 16 and under aged cricketers playing in Armidale who wouldn’t benefit from the chance to receive specialist training at the most successful Sydney grade club, Manly Warringah DCC. Worth a total of up to $2,500 over three years, players may be nominated by their club, their school or their parents.
Last year’s recipient, Brooke Moran was accepted into Manly Warringah’s Pathways Program, made her debut in their U19 side and went on to be selected in the Australian School U/15 side following the National Championships.
This is a golden opportunity for a country cricketer to pursue their big dreams.

Birthday shout to Roger "Wally" Sattler ( #378), superstar of the late 1970's and first half of the 80's. As an allrounder, there were none better, whether with bat or ball in hand and with a safe set of mitts in the slips. A good bloke to spend time with, although these days he prefers crema over froth. Don't ever try to pull the wool over his eyes about the details of a match from days gone by because he remembers them down to the stolen bye. Wal is accurate in everything except his judgment of speed, where he always thinks he bowled faster and drove slower, than the he actually did. Happy birthday Satts.

Victor “Craybob” Crew ( #399) had his last applause this morning in Gulargambone, as family and friends said goodbye in the town of his birth mother. His sporting gifts were all naturally won and expressed and gave him joy and also those who admired his fluency and freedom. Life didn’t always replicate that for him but his tenacity and sense of humour were his greatest assets.
Waratahs generally and certainly those who knew and played with Crewy, wish only peace and belonging for him in his Dreaming.
