The Sydney Outfielders are an LGBTQIA+ slow-pitch softball league that welcomes players of all different ages, genders, orientations, and skill levels

Sydney Outfielders is an LGBTQIA+ mixed-gender slow-pitch softball league based in Sydney. We welcome players of all skill levels and sporting backgrounds — from first-timers to seasoned players, there’s a place for everyone on the diamond. Our summer season runs weekly games alongside training sessions and social events throughout the year across various locations in inner Sydney. As Australia’s

longest-running LGBTQIA+ softball league, we are proud to be community-run, not-for-profit, and built on the values of fun, inclusion, and respect, both on and off the field. We are committed to providing a safe space for all players, with a strong focus on supporting underrepresented groups in our community. To ensure this, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or harassment.

🥎🏳️‍🌈 ROUND 2 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Round 2 for the Sydney Outfielders 2026–27 season is officially open — and this round is open to everyone.

Whether you’re a man, woman, gender diverse, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob, a returning Outfielder or completely new to the league, you can apply in Round 2.

Never played softball before? That’s completely fine. We welcome everyone from total beginners through to experienced players. Sydney Outfielders is about q***r community, friendship, getting active and enjoying a little healthy competition along the way. 💛

⚠️ Places are limited, including across our men’s, women’s and gender-diverse player allocations, so we recommend registering as soon as you can.

💰 2026–27 Player Membership
Standard — $140
Concession — $75
First Nations / Mob — $100

Payment assistance is also available through our Player Access Fund — please don’t let cost be the reason you don’t join us.

📅 Round 2 closes at 7pm Thursday 3 September, or earlier if available places are filled.

Submitting the registration form is the first step and does not automatically confirm a place. We’ll review registrations against the remaining vacancies and team composition requirements, then contact successful applicants with payment instructions and next steps.

The Sydney Outfielders 2026–27 season is getting closer, and Round 1 registration is now open!

You can register in Round 1 if you are new to Sydney Outfielders AND:
✨ You’re a woman
✨ You’re gender diverse
✨ You’re Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander / Mob, of any gender
✨ You participated in our 2026 Training Academy
✨ You’ve been recruited or invited to join by one of our team captains

Whether you’ve played softball for years, haven’t played since school, or have never picked up a bat before, you don’t need any previous softball experience to join us.

Sydney Outfielders is Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ slow-pitch softball league, bringing our community together through sport, friendship and a little healthy competition. 🏳️‍🌈🥎

📅 Round 1 closes at 7pm on Thursday 3rd September.
Submitting the registration form is the first step and does not immediately confirm your membership. We’ll review registrations and contact you once your place has been confirmed, along with payment instructions. You’ll then have 7 days to complete payment to secure your membership.

Our sausage is ready to sizzle (at Bunnings!) 💛🥎

We’re heading to Bunnings Alexandria to fire up the barbie for a good old fashioned sausage sizzle, and we’d love to see you there.

Every sausage sold goes straight back into the club, funding training, teams and community events.

If you’re around on the day, swing by, grab a snag and have a chat. It’s a small thing that makes a real difference for Sydney Outfielders.

Never picked up a glove? Haven’t played in years? Coming from another sport? This one’s for you.

Sydney Outfielders Training Academy is 6 weeks of beginner-friendly softball training before the 2026/27 season kicks off. Run by coaches from Softball NSW, backed by our own volunteers.

Learn proper technique, build real skills, get game-ready. No league commitment, no pressure, just a chance to learn, meet people and have a hit.

Open to everyone 18+. Outfielders members and newcomers alike.

The Sydney Outfielders Training Academy is officially here. 💛🥎

Launching this off-season, the academy is a structured 6-week beginner-friendly softball training program designed to help new, returning and curious players build skills, confidence and community before the season begins.

Delivered by experienced softball players and coaches from Softball NSW, with support from Sydney Outfielders volunteers, this is more than just a casual hit-around.

The program is designed to help participants learn proper technique, develop core softball skills, understand the game and feel more prepared heading into the 2026/27 season.

The academy is open to everyone aged 18 years and older, including Sydney Outfielders members, future players and members of the public.

Whether you’ve never picked up a glove before, haven’t played in years, are joining from another sport, want to sharpen your skills before the season begins or simply want to get a taste of softball before October rolls around, this is your chance to get involved.

Dates: Saturday 25 July to Saturday 29 August 2026
Time: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
Location: Alexandria Park Oval
Tickets: $75 standard / $50 concession, First Nations and Mob
Places: Limited

No pressure, no league commitment and no need to already know what you’re doing — just a chance to learn from experienced coaches, improve your skills, meet people and have a hit.

Sydney Outfielders is proud to be officially affiliated with Softball NSW. 💛🥎

This is a very big moment for the league as we enter our next stage of growth.

We were thrilled to have Jess Morley from Softball NSW join us at Drag Bingo to share the announcement and celebrate this next step with our community.

This affiliation strengthens our connection to the wider softball community and gives us access to greater support, guidance and resources as we build a bigger, stronger and more sustainable league.

For Outfielders, this opens the door to more support, more learning opportunities and more ways to grow the game. Think stronger training, better umpiring pathways, clearer support behind the scenes, access to development programs and more help as we continue to grow.

Most importantly, it helps us strengthen our foundations while staying true to who we are: a welcoming, inclusive and proudly LGBTQIA+ softball community.

BIG NEWS, OUTFIELDERS. 💛🥎

At Drag Bingo this past Sunday, we announced some major updates for Sydney Outfielders and the 2026/27 season.

We’re growing the league from 12 to 14 teams, launching our new Training Academy, affiliating with Softball NSW, introducing umpire training, opening EOIs for new co-captains and teams, expanding our social membership offering, opening our player waitlist, inviting members to join our Mardi Gras subcommittee, and introducing a new First Nations / Mob discounted registration rate.

Translation? More places to play. More ways to train. More chances to lead. More ways to volunteer. More community. More Outfielders magic.

But growth takes more than glitter and good vibes.
More teams means more fields, equipment, umpires, training, admin and support behind the scenes. Making the league bigger, stronger and more accessible takes real investment.
