2025 is about to finish and I just want to thank you all for your support as we started this new journey together in Eastwood. This gym is for all of us – you’re not just students or members, you’re family.
I’ve trained Wing Chun since 1994 and Jiu-Jitsu for about 9 years. Some of you know my stories from high school attacks, saving a family in Taiwan, and the robbery attempts at Bondi Beach and Museum Station. In those situations there was no time to wait for the police – because of training I was calm and able to protect myself and my family. Martial arts isn’t just my passion; it has literally helped save my life.
That’s why I want my children – and you and your kids – to learn self defence. Our children are growing up fast. One day they will be on their own in the world, and we won’t always be there to protect them, but their skills, confidence and mindset can go with them. Even if they never need to use it, that inner power will help them succeed in other areas of life.
As we move into 2026, please don’t let the thought of giving up stay in your mind. If we quit easily on the mats, it can become a pattern in other parts of life. Instead, let’s build the habit of showing up, staying focused and getting stronger together.
Thank you for being part of the Braddah Eastwood family. Happy New Year, and see you on the mats in 2026. 💪 give up
