NEW AWARD SYSTEM FOR MACCAS

💥This season we are introducing a new Award for “The Athlete of the Week” sponsored by our long time supporter McDonalds.

🙌 Fact: Maroochy Centre was formed in 1981 at a public meeting held at and hosted by the Parker family who owned the original McDonalds on Aerodrome Road!!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Individual Athletes in all age groups can be recognised each week for:
🌟 Good behaviour
💫 Outstanding Sportsmanship
✨ Helping out at events
⭐️ High PB achievements
⚡️Other Special Recognition

👌 Age Managers and or Committee may nominate an athlete within their group or event each week and put the name into our ‘Dinky Dinosaur’ 🦕 box in the Shed. Certificates will be issued the following competition night!!

🤞. But wait, there is a limit - an athlete may only receive a max of 2 certificates in a season - Maccas Rules 🙀

SORRY MAROOCHY FAMILIES but the school has reported that the grounds are very wet and with more showers forecast later TODAY we are cancelling our scheduled meet for tonight.

🤞 We will reschedule Week 2 program for next week

🙏 Please note there will be a couple of committee members at the shed until 5.45 if you want to pick up your registration packs.

unable to run the normal menu and are looking for volunteers

Works are about to commence on upgrading the Maroochydore State High School Bus Zone.

Mobilisation activities are expected to commence from Monday 14 September 2026, with construction works scheduled to begin from Monday 21 September 2026.

We anticipate the project will be ready for operational use by late January 2027, weather and site conditions permitting.

The project will improve bus pick-up and drop-off facilities and provide safer pedestrian access for students and the wider school community.

The upgraded facility includes improved bus bays, new pedestrian pathways and crossings, upgraded fencing, landscaping and associated infrastructure to create a safer and more functional transport environment.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the State Transport Infrastructure Program (STIP) and delivered by Sunshine Coast Council.

Thanks to Fiona Simpson MP for her advocacy on this project at a state level.
