Our New Zealand Tour has come to an end 🇳🇿🏉

The team would like to sincerely thank all of our sponsors. Without your generous support, this tour would not have been possible for our 14 players to attend.
Organising, fundraising, and keeping all 14 players and their families involved in every event and communication is no small task, but thanks to your sponsorship, so much of that pressure was eased for the girls and their families.
We are incredibly grateful for your support and can’t thank you enough for helping make this amazing opportunity possible.

There’s a massive thank you that needs to happen to two incredible coaches for everything they have done for the girls not only for preparation for this tour but the years leading up to it too. Pip, Tom (& Hugo) your time, dedication, support and encouragement have meant so much to the whole team. Thank you for guiding the girls, believing in them, and helping create memories they’ll never forget.

The girls have been given an opportunity of a lifetime to tour with their team mates & play the sport they love in a different country. We know the girls have come home with memories that will last a lifetime ❤️🖤

Day 7 – Game Day 🏉

Today began with a special celebrity breakfast with Phillipa Love. Pip has represented the Black Ferns, Canterbury, and has been a member of the Super Rugby Matatū team since 2022.
The girls had the opportunity to ask questions, hear about her rugby journey, learn what shaped her into a representative player, and gain some valuable advice about what it takes to succeed at the next level.

Next stop was Crusaders HQ, where the team enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour, grabbed a photo with the Super Rugby trophy, met some international academy players, and learned about the key attributes selectors look for when choosing players.

After a morning full of inspiration, the girls were fired up and ready for Game 3 against Lincoln High School. We headed out to Lincoln after lunch and came away with a fantastic win, approximately 57–17! 🎉
The team was buzzing after the match and once again enjoyed spending time with the Lincoln High School girls in a great after-match catch-up.

Tonight, we finished the day in style, heading out on scooters for our last team dinner together — a great way to celebrate an unforgettable trip. ❤️🖤

Day 6

Today we celebrated one of our captains’ birthdays 🎈 Happy Birthday, Grace 🎉

It was an early start as we headed off to Hanmer Springs for a day full of adventure.
• 8 of the girls took on the bungy jump and absolutely loved every second of it.
• Jet boating was an incredible experience, speeding through the river and skimming past the cliff faces.
• The thermal reserve hot pools and water slides were the perfect way to finish the day, with a mix of refreshing cold pools and beautiful 40-degree water to relax in.

Only 2 more days to go… ❤️🖤

Day 5

A cooler start to the day saw the girls take on the treetops at Adrenalin Forest, tackling challenges reaching up to 25m high 🌳

This afternoon, the team put in a solid 2-hour training session with Yuki Paraki 🏉
Yuki brings an incredible level of experience, having represented Counties Manukau in both 15s and 7s, played professionally in Japan from 2018–2023, and represented the Japan national 15s side during that time. She also coached the Canterbury U18 girls backs in 2024 and is currently a PE teacher at Christchurch Boys’ High School.
The session was tailored to focus on key areas of the game that Pip identified as most beneficial for the girls, making it a valuable and insightful experience for the whole team.

Day 4 – Team Bonding 🤝

Today was all about bringing the team closer together.

The girls had a relaxed morning exploring the city with some free time before heading off for a cultural experience to immerse themselves in Māori traditions. A paddle down the Avon River through the heart of Christchurch and learning the Haka was an unforgettable highlight.

After lunch, things stepped up a notch with a paintball session that definitely left its mark… plenty of bruises to compare back at the hostel!

To finish the day, the girls and chaperones enjoyed a fun night of charades and Celebrity Heads — and let’s just say, what happens there stays there… no photos or videos allowed 😂

Day 3 – Go Karting & Game 2

The girls kicked off the morning by bringing out their competitive side on the go-karts… safe to say most of them are better suited to the rugby field than the racetrack! 😂

This afternoon we made our way to Rangiora for Game 2, taking on Rangiora High School. Although we didn’t get the win, the team showed great determination and, more importantly, built some great connections with an awesome group of girls after the game.
A real highlight of the day was witnessing the Rangiora girls perform the Haka — a special and memorable experience that our team felt very lucky to be part of.

Day 2 – Game Day 🏉

The day began with a relaxed morning, including a tour through the beautiful city and a ride on the Gondola.

Later in the afternoon, the team took the field against Christchurch Girls High School. While the result didn’t go their way, the girls got to experience their first game of NZ rugby. They wrapped up their experience with a shared after-match meal and activities with the Christchurch team.

A massive thanks to Mark at Lancaster Motor Group for supplying the girls with puffer jackets ready for New Zealand.

The girls would not have the best kit in town if it wasn’t for our amazing sponsors who have helped them make sure they have everything they need ❤️🖤
