⚫️🟡 MILESTONE GAME 🟡⚫️

The Simpson FNC would like to congratulate Brad Salmon, who will play his 250th senior football game tomorrow.

Since his first call up to senior football in 2007 while he was still only 16, to the mature player he is now, it is a credit to his hard work and determination to achieve all 250 games at the senior level.

A Premiership Player & Assistant Coach In 2015, Runner Up B&F in 2009 & 2022, Best in Finals in 2018, Best Team Player in 2019 and B&F in 2023, Hotel Award 2022, Senior Captain and Reserves Coach - not a bad rap sheet!

Brad has also been a committee member, and more recently instilling his skills and knowledge on the tinniest tigers of the club as our Auskick Coordinator.

Congratulations Brad on this momentous achievement!

For a lot of men, mental health conversations don’t start in formal spaces.

They start at the footy club.
In the shed after training.
On the way home from work.
In those everyday moments where connection already exists.

Mental health prevention isn’t about having the perfect words. It’s about not letting those small moments of connection slip by.

A quick check-in.
Noticing when someone’s a bit quieter than usual.
Asking again instead of moving on.

Most men don’t suddenly hit crisis, it builds over time. Stress. Pressure. Withdrawal. Silence.

That’s why the spaces men already gather in matter so much.

A simple “you right?” in the right moment can go further than we think.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable to reach out.

This Sunday is the last week of our 8 week Auskick & NetSetGo program.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Brad Salmon for running the Auskick program & Rach Perrett and Kate McVilly for running NetSetGo.

Your patience and commitment to our tinniest tigers does not go unnoticed. Thank you for giving your time to run these incredibly important programs! The smiles on the kids faces during the sessions says it all.

We will be having a small presentation for all our Auskick & NetSetGo participants and BBQ following the sessions on Sunday.

All family and loved ones invited to come and celebrate our littlest legends!

Tonight’s the night to have your tickets sold! Emily will be in the clubrooms from 6pm if you need to catch up with her. Please let her know who you have sold your tickets to!

🔵🟠 READ THE PLAY ROUND 🟠🔵

This weekend we are back at home, hosting Birregurra F&NC for Read the Play round.

Read the play is an important local initiative that supports young people to better understand mental health and wellbeing, reduce stigma and know where to turn to when they need help.

This weekend the player who best displays the Read The Play Values - RESPECT, COURAGE & TEAMWORK - in both the Under 15’s Football & Netball, will be presented with a Read The Play medal and game ball.

This week also includes the Greg Hayward Medal, presented to the Best & Fairest Player of both clubs in the Under 15’s Football. A special award to honour Greg’s involvement with the Simpson FNC.

And if that wasn’t enough, keep your eyes peeled for the new additions at the front of the club rooms - keeping you toasty all day long! Thank you to everyone involved in getting this project completed, there will be many happy spectators for the weeks to come!
