‼️ Builds confidence - kids who feel physically capable carry themselves differently with less fear
‼️ Teaches calm under pressure - training in controlled, stressful situations - someone grabbing them, pinning them or applying pressure whilst being able to escape/defend themselves
‼️ Improves social skills and belonging - kids train together, encourage each other, learn to respect boundaries and form new friendships along the way
‼️ Develops discipline and self control - we emphasize avoiding fights, using techniques only when necessary which in turn gives kids no need to prove themselves to others
‼️ Provides realistic self defence - unlike striking-based martial arts. we focus heavily on escaping grabs, controlling someone safely and defending without causing serious injury. This can be especially useful in school situations where fights involve pushing, tackling, striking and grabbing
‼️ Creates resilience through gradual challenge - everyone loses constantly whilst learning so kids get used to setbacks, discomfort and trying again. This will carry over in to real life scenarios when dealing with teasing, exclusion or intimidation
