The Spirit of George Weekend is coming up, with team entries strictly limited!

Open to U8 and U10 boys and girls.

You do not need to be part of a club to enter, school teams, friendship groups, and club teams are all welcome.

All players must hold a BTAS registration.

This is a wonderful weekend celebrating the legacy of George McKnees and everything his beautiful family represents, sportsmanship, determination, courage, and respect.

Teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games across the weekend. The tournament also recognises players who represent these values, with nominations throughout the weekend for the prestigious *Spirit of George Award*.

Congratulations to Thomas Kleeman on being presented with his Grey Shirt for Basketball United last night.

The professionalism, respect, dedication and willingness to learn that Thomas has shown has been second to none. He is always willing to put his hand up and help out wherever he can, and his attitude and commitment do not go unnoticed.

Congratulations Thomas a very well deserved achievement and one the entire Basketball United community is proud of.

Please make sure you’re ready to go and check the PlayHQ roster before each game, as changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

The club are extending their support to one of our current junior players. Gorgeous and talented 9 year old Lockie Abraham’s was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer requiring medical treatment in Melbourne.

Lockie is an incredibly talented player who after 2 years in U10’s has been selected in our u12 rep teams led by Kylie and Joel. Lockie should be enjoying preseason training with his team instead he’s managing medical appointments, still with the gorgeous and cheeky smile he’s known for.

To help make this journey somewhat one the Abraham’s can focus on lockies health and providing some sense of routine for his siblings Isaac (current U14 and long term player) and Liv the youngest of the Abraham children, there is a go fund me that’s been set up by family.

Please if you can get behind the family and donate it will allow Bec and Nathan to not worry about the financial impact of this journey. As they’ll need to spend a period of time interstate for treatment.

We're hosting a FREE event in Hobart this Thursday from 9am to 12pm at Moonah Sports Centre designed for girls aged 5-8 who are new to the game and learning the basics.
