Who’s up for a sleep in? 😴 …Not this crew! 😂

While most people were still tucked up in bed, our legends were out tackling an 8km session before the sun was even up. 🌅

Single-digit temps? ✅
Biting westerly? ✅
Questioning life choices on the beach? Maybe… 😂

But somehow, every paddle stroke, every laugh and that incredible sunrise made it all worth it. That’s what our club is all about—showing up for each other, embracing the challenge and having a few laughs along the way. 💪

If you’d like to help get these dedicated crews to the start line this competition season, come and say hello at our Caringbah BBQ on Sunday 2 August, 9am–4pm (or until sold out).

Grab a sausage sizzle 🌭, pick up some cupcakes, slices or other baked treats 🧁, or simply make a donation. Every dollar helps us raise funds for a much-needed trailer to get our crews on the road and representing Kurnell.

Nationals weekend in Coffs Harbour 🌊

Big effort from our Senior Master Mixed crew, finishing 4th in our division in a huge field of 44 canoes on the start line 👏

Tricky conditions out on the water made for a tough race, but the crew dug deep and showed plenty of grit and teamwork to power through 💪

Special shoutout to our newbies .janene and Jess Fox competing in only their second races — absolute legends! 🙌

What a day at Port Hacking Regatta ☀️

10km short course done and what a race… wild start, neck-and-neck with Bondi Outrigger Canoe Club pretty much the whole way, and we crossed 2nd over the line out of 20 canoes in 52:31 🙌

Super stoked to take 1st in Master Mixed, and only miss line honours by a few seconds to Bondi’s Open crew… so close! Silver day for us overall 🥈

Extra special day with two novices in our crew — Shay Smith in her very first race and Nathan Vella in only his second. You both were awesome and we are so proud of you 👏

These are the days we love… tough racing, great people, and that feeling of pushing hard together on the water. 💪

Huge weekend of racing for the NSW State Championships this weekend! The newest members of our team hit the water first in the Ultra Short Course 4km and came away with the gold 🙌🥇So proud of you all!! Next up was our Master Mixed Crew competing in the Short Course 10km with 29 crews on the water from all over the state, it was ultra competitive. We paddled one of our best races yet for the season and came away with the silver 🙌🥈 A big Thankyou to our partners and family that cheered us on and to for another fantastic event. Another big Thankyou to our sponsors Ampol Australia Kurnell Recreation Club 🙏 Bring on nationals!! 💪

✨ East Coast Challenge 2026 🥇

What a massive day on the water at Rose Bay yesterday!

First up, the chief ox made his OC1 debut — taking on the 10km with a strong, determined finish. Absolute effort out there 💪

Next, our Mixed crew hit the 10km short course. A great start followed by a solid grind through some tough heat and ferry cross-swell conditions — but the team held strong and brought home the win in our division 🥇🔥

Huge thank you to our legendary support crew who kept spirits high (and may have enjoyed a little ch*****ne and cheese along the way 🥂💛).

Thanks to the legends at .c for the loan of your Kamanu and for hosting another fantastic regatta 🙌

So proud to see our small but mighty club continuing to grow. We can’t wait to get more of our new members out on the start line soon!

What a day for our small but mighty club! Kurnell Outriggers took on the Five Islands regatta again today and in a few tough races both teams today came away with Gold in the Ultra and Master Mixed divisions 🥇🥇👏👏

Proud of everyone’s efforts and resilience today. Always plenty of laughs when this lot get together 😂
