R U OK? DAY | CHECK IN WITH YOUR PACK!

Today is R U OK? Day, and at the Dingos we’re reminding our players that being a great teammate isn’t just about passing the ball, playing defence or cheering from the bench.

It’s also about looking out for your mates. 🧡🖤

Sometimes a teammate might be quieter than usual, having a tough day or just need someone in their corner. A simple “R U OK?” can make a bigger difference than you think.

We want our Dingos to grow up knowing that kindness, friendship, inclusion and supporting each other are just as important as anything we teach on the basketball court. 🏀

These 10 principles are our guide to the values and behaviours that help build an R U OK? culture at the Dingos - where everyone in our Pack feels welcome, supported and like they belong. 🤝

They’re simple things we can ALL do - players, coaches, volunteers, parents and families - to look out for one another and make our club an even better place to be.

So today, check in with a teammate, include someone, listen, make someone smile and remember…

On the court. Off the court. We look out for our Pack.

This week, the boys took on South Coast - a team that has been so solid all season, never gives up and just keeps improving. Their defence, offence, dribbling and passing have come such a long way. Huge props to the SCBC boys, they’re definitely a team to watch out for in the future! 👏

From the start though, our boys took off and never looked back. Their defence was on another level, and their passing continues to improve every single week. Team assists hit double digits, which is a testament to some elite passing, great ball movement and the way these boys are learning to play for each other.

⭐️ Our Grill'd Pack Star of the Week was Ashton, who absolutely dominated with so many steals and finished as one of our highest scorer with 12 points. Ash is always so strong defensively, but this week he really stepped it up on the scoring end too. A fantastic all-round game and very well deserved!

WHAT A FANTASTIC GAME!

It was our second-last game of the season, and the boys played with so much joy out on the court. It was also great to have Ned back after missing the last two games.

What impressed most was their unselfishness and willingness to share the ball. There were so many brilliant assists creating easy, open baskets for each other - a true team performance and a great reflection of how far their passing and ball movement have come.

⭐️ Odin, Cooper and Kayde were our Pack Stars of the Week. Odin played with awesome control and confidence, moving well off the ball and finishing those team passes. Cooper led the floor with incredible vision, setting up his teammates all game long, while Kayde did the heavy lifting inside, anchoring the defence and dominating the glass. Huge games from all three!

🏀 Ned brought the swag, confidence and high energy the team had missed over the last two weeks - and capped it off with a beautiful buzzer-beater!

🏀 Sebastian continues to grow his understanding of the game, and it’s impressive to watch. He set some great screens, opening up lanes for our ball handlers, while also anchoring the rebounding effort.

🏀 Jackson, as always, brought pure grit and energy! He competed on every play and kept the team hyped up.

🏀 Raiden pushed the pace, stayed active on defence and helped keep the offence moving smoothly.

So proud of how quickly the boys took last week’s lesson on board and came out sharing the basketball like a seasoned team.

Just ONE more game to go for our U10 boys in their inaugural season at the Dingos. Time to start preparing for the move up to U12s and getting ready to take on the big boys... and we’ll be ready! 💪

ROUND 15 - LET’S HEAR THE PACK HOWL! 🙌

Can you believe it? We’ve almost made it through our inaugural Dingos season… and what a ride it’s been!

We’ve arrived at the final round of the Winter 2026 regular season, and we’d LOVE to see our Dingos families and players get down to the courts and cheer on all our teams the Pack way.

🤞 Toes, fingers and EVERYTHING crossed for Coach Mark and our U12 Orange boys as they fight for a spot in the finals.

🏀 And for our U10 Orange, U10 Black and U12 Black teams, it’s their last game of the season so let’s make it a BIG one and go out with a bang.

Wear your Dingos gear. Bring the noise. Bring the Pack energy. Let’s finish our first season the way we started it - TOGETHER! 🤝

LET’S GO DINGOS! 🧡🖤

🏀 DINGOS U12 RECAP - ROUND 14 🏀

U12 Dingos Orange 🧡
Dingos 21 def. by LWLC Lions Cobalt 46

Third time facing up against LWLC Cobalt this season, and we went down by 25 points, which was by far our biggest losing margin of the season. The opposition opened up a 10–0 lead in the first four minutes on the back of some defensive accountability issues, but the Dingos held their own leading into halftime, where the difference on the scoreboard was only 11.

The physicality of the game got to our kids in the second half, with emotions starting to run high and a number of the Dingos losing their composure. In the end, LWLC ran away with the game, with the final scoreline 46–21.

We may have lacked some defensive intensity and effort this week, but there were positives to take from the game on the offensive end. The first half showed some nice passing and better offensive setups, which allowed our secondary scorers to total 12 points. That’s only the second time we’ve managed that in the last 10 games, and considering the low team total, it’s all the more impressive.

With one week to go, we need to keep these results in perspective. The boys are doing exceptionally well to compete in A-Grade. The top three teams are far and away in a league of their own, going 28 wins and just one loss at a percentage of 204% against the bottom five sides across the season. Although we’ve had this one blowout, we’ve been much more competitive against these top sides to this point. We now have a challenge to focus on next week against the league leaders to close out our campaign.

⭐️ The Grill'd Pack Stars of the Week went to Cooper and Brodie.

Each week we talk about what the kids need to focus on from an individual perspective, and Cooper went into the match with a clear plan to ensure his defensive positioning, both in man-on-man situations and within our system, was front of mind. It’s a mindset like this, focused on the less tangible parts of basketball, that separates the best players. Great job, Cooper!

In a similar vein, Brodie went into the game with a focus on freeing up teammates by setting screens and using his body against the opposition. His teammates followed suit in the first half when they saw the results of these one-percent efforts, and a number of our buckets were directly attributable to these off-ball actions.

On top of this, Brodie was more aggressive on offence, driving the ball and hitting layups or drawing the defender before passing to the open man. Great work, Brodie! 💪

U12 Dingos Black 🖤
Dingos drew 21-21 SCBC Wildcats

The boys should be so proud of themselves and the way they played this week. The last time we faced this team, we went down 25–10, so to come back and draw 21–21 is a testament to the team’s overall improvement across the season and something they should all be very proud of.

The game wasn’t without its challenges. It was a physical contest, which is always a little tougher for our team being younger in age and playing up, but the boys handled it really well. It did result in a few injuries and some tears, but they kept pushing right through to the very end. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the ring in the final seconds and walked away with the 21–21 draw.

An overall excellent team effort! 🙌

⭐️ Our Grill'd Pack Star of the Week was Liam.

Coach Brendan has had the privilege of coaching him for many previous seasons, and this season Liam has put a great deal of effort into developing his defensive role. In this week’s game his rebounds, steals and strategic fouls complemented his four points and contributed greatly to the team’s result.

Great work, Liam! 🏀

What a great game from our U10 Orange Dingos!

We were missing two key members of the pack this week through illness and injury, but the rest of the boys did a fantastic job stepping up and playing together.

The final score was 55–31, but it certainly didn’t come easily. The Royals made the Dingos work for every point, bringing strong defensive pressure and knocking down some really pretty shots of their own. It made for a great contest between two teams who have enjoyed some good battles this season.

One of the biggest highlights for the Dingos was their confidence driving to the basket. The boys worked hard to get themselves into good positions, backed themselves and even showed off some fancy footwork along the way. It’s been really rewarding to watch that confidence grow as the season has gone on.

It wasn’t easy to pick a standout this week, with every player giving their best. They worked together, played for each other and came away with their highest score of the season so far - 55 points. Something they can all be really proud of. 👏

⭐️ Our Grill'd Pack Star of the Week was Noah. He brought his usual steady and reliable performance, while also finishing as our highest scorer for the game with his best score of the season so far! A fantastic effort and very well deserved, Noah.

This was our final match-up against the Royals for the season, and we’ve really enjoyed watching these two teams compete. Hopefully we’ll see plenty of the Royals boys again over summer as they make the move up to U12s together. Thanks for some great games this season. 🤝

The game this week was another great, competitive battle right until the very end. It didn’t go the Dingos way, and there were a few tears from some of the boys again - but that just shows the competitive spirit they have and how much they care!

As the boys have heard before, they either win or they learn, and there were definitely some valuable lessons to take away from this game.

🏀 You Can’t Win Playing 1v5
Too many of the attacks were attempts to score individually without getting the rest of the team involved. This week, we’ll be working on moving the ball and setting up more team plays.

🏀 Building Their Organisation On Defence
Defence comes down to awareness and communication. The boys were missing a little of both, so that will be another focus at training this week.

Overall, it was great to see just how competitive the boys are. They didn’t give up until the final whistle, and that resilience will continue to serve them well as they grow and develop together.

⭐️ Sebastian was our Grill'd Pack Star of the Week. Still recovering from being sick, Seb still came out and played with incredible hustle at both ends of the floor, pulling down rebounds and getting some great putbacks!

Great job, boys. They should all be proud of the way they kept competing until the final buzzer.

Just two games left for our U10 boys - hard to believe their first season as Dingos is almost at an end!

🏀 DINGOS U12 RECAP - ROUND 13 🏀

The U12 Dingos Black had the week off with a bye, leaving the U12 Dingos Orange to carry the torch for the Pack this round.

Dingos U12 Orange 🧡
Dingos 34 def. 4You Bears 16

There were a lot of nerves this week coming into a danger game against 4You Bears. Back in Round 6, we were lucky to come away with a 4-point win in a hard-fought contest, and we knew they would come out strong wanting to get some revenge.

The first half was a low-scoring, dour affair, with neither team really able to wrestle away the ascendancy. The start of the second half played out in much the same fashion, with a single bucket separating the teams before the Dingos finally managed to kick into gear and come away with the win at the final siren. 👏

The Bears' pressure on the ball carrier in the first half was frantic, and we really struggled to advance the ball up the court. In the second half, we managed to force more turnovers, which allowed us to get into our transition offence much quicker before the defence could get set and ensured we weren’t getting trapped in the backcourt.

There were still some red flags defensively in the first half, mirroring what we’d seen in our matchup earlier this season. We’ll need to go back and sharpen that up at training through the week!

This week we were missing Cooper - get well soon, mate - and brought in Ned from our U10 B Grade Dingos Black team, and he didn’t look out of place. He did an exceptional job picking up the defensive system with no prior experience and hustled throughout the whole game.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite get him that open 3-pointer at the end of the game - shots from outside the arc in U10s are only counted as 2! He was our first Grill'd Pack Star of the Week based on his effort.

Our second Grill'd Pack Star of the Week was Beau. He was hounded defensively in the first half and struggled to get into the game offensively, with the Bears doing a great job of containing him. However, when the game was on the line in the second half, he simply took over and showed why we rate him as one of the very best players in the U12 age group.

Beau finished the game with 5 steals, 7 rebounds and a block, showing that he doesn’t just impact the game on the offensive end - he’s an all-round superstar. ⭐

This win puts us into 4th place on the ladder with two weeks to go. We’ll need to knock off an LWLC team in the final two weeks to make finals, which will be a difficult task, but our boys won’t back down from a fight. 💪
