Group pic from last term. With this term sold out over a month before it starts, and all goalie classes on Wednesdays sold out, we are all very humbled with the effort and enthusiasm that the goalie community has shown. When we launched the school, we didn’t expect it to grow so rapidly. It’s amazing to see so many goalies of all ages putting in the work each session.

Thanks to everyone for their hard work and to the goalie parents for getting up early on a Saturday morning to bring your young goalies to training. The future of Melbourne goaltending looks very bright.

That’s a wrap for 2025. Two years and every term sold out. When we started this school we didn’t expect it to be such a success but we knew Melbourne needed a consistent goalie school with a well structured program.

On behalf of all coaches and staff at IceHQ, a huge thanks to all the goalies and parents of junior goalies for trusting us to help develop the future goalies of Victoria. See you next year.

Welcome to the coaching team Roman Wereszczynsky!

Roman is a Canadian-born goalie coach who moved to Melbourne a couple of years ago. He played high-level hockey up to the U18 level, finishing up in the AAA GNML before deciding to focus on his studies, where he discovered a passion for coaching. Since then, Roman has worked with goalies of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners to players competing in Major Junior. He has a strong technical background and loves helping goalies develop both on and off the ice.

Roman brings a wealth of knowledge so please make him feel welcome when you see him coaching at the rink.

End of term 1 for 2025. Sold out for the fifth consecutive term. Thanks to everyone for all the support. We’re committed to growing goaltending in Melbourne. We’re taking a break for term 2 but will be back for term 3 with a new program.

Great attendance at this Ice Hockey Victoria - IHV event last night with coaching from Melbourne Goalie School. This session also invited team coaches to observe so they could understand goaltending to help with goalie development in their team.
