Just going through some notes. I wrote this some time ago but still stands with me today

What Jeet Kune Do is to me

To me it is an expression of my practices , experiences and personal views. Using multiple arts and solutions into one continuous flow,
It is what I perceive it to be , my journey of self interpretations and processes.
I have been teaching and studying martial arts for quite some time now and have been privileged to have learnt from some great people.
How I have always taught is that I can show how to , make adjustments ,fine tune but have always maintained that the individuals are the only ones that can execute the actions making them make it suit themselves,
How it works for me maybe different how it works for others
Make it your own
Own your actions
Take ownership
Make it suite you , as everyone is different.
How do you know if something doesn’t work. ? By trying it !
How do you know if something works. ? By trying it. !
Set practices, drills ect. Repetition Building muscle memory
Always ensuring that the individuals understand that what they are practicing can work but only when the opportunity presents it self at that particular point of time and is not the only answer as the situation is always changing.
Questions to your self
Who writes the rules ?
Who’s game do you play ?
Where do you move to ?
What do you want to control ?
This is a journey that has no end !!!

𝗜𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺: 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 – 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗔
The Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA) is very sad to acknowledge the recent death of our President, Mr Walt Missingham. We are all grateful, beyond measure, for his enormous and successful efforts in bringing Chinese martial arts and our several sports into the mainstream.

Mr Missingham has been our President since our inception in 2012, and was President of its antecedent national bodies since 1986, with stints before then as well. He will be sorely missed.

Mr Missingham did leave MAIA in a very good state, not withstanding the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic, and with a clear path to a bright future.
