Capoeira Melbourne is a capoeira school in Melbourne, Australia led by Leo Viralata. Capoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kapuˈejɾɐ]) is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences, probably beginning in the 16th century. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly powe

r, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps. Viralata originally from Salvador, Brazil has been learning the art of Capoeira for over 20 years learning from many famous Masters of the sport throughout the world. Originally immigrating to Australia in 2003 he continues to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport he loves through regular classes and workshops run throughout Australia.
