Amazing Borough Stat:

Last Saturday the PMFC played their 150th seniors finals match.

Our senior premierships matches in 1897 and 1901 are not included because there are no records of finals. We believe that the premiership was given to the club who ended the season as ladder leaders.

That needs a clap 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Just imagine the number if we include all our other teams - 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 5ths and VFLW - WOW.

On the Friday before the VFL Sydney Swans finals match we mounted PMFC Premiership Pennant Flags up in the Museum.
Since then the Men have gone on and won two finals and the girls won their first yesterday.
Is this a good omen for the PMFC?

Last night prior to training the PMFC Heritage Association/Museum was pleased to present a cash donation to the VFLW team for their assistance with our fundraising BBQ a couple of weeks ago.
We also gave them a donation after our previous BBQ in June.
It is all about supporting each other and working as a team. Thank-you girls ❤️💙

The VFA now VFL celebrates 150 Years next year. A VFA hall of fame is needed to celebrate a big year. Lots to celebrate. Let’s get it right and make it a year to remember.

150 years of our grand old league once called the
VFA now called the VFL

Next year is going to be a monster year for the VFL as the league celebrates 150 years as the VFA/VFL.

From Fred Cook Frosty Miller to the great Phil Cleary. To the modern Day greats of Ben Jolley to Toby Pinwill. We’ve had some greats in our league over those 149 years.

The VFA has had a plethora of stars make the league what it is and it’s time they deserved their recognition to 150 years of the competition with a VFA/VFL Hall of fame.

Some things I’d like to see next year in the VFL

1. Dedicated VFA/VFL logo for 2027 to celebrate the 150 years which is used on all VFL jumpers like the one attached below.

2. Heritage round where all big the rivals face off vs each other. Port V Williamstown, Carlton v Collingwood all the rivals.

3 One-off double header game at the MCG. To celebrate 150 years the league needs to go back to its roots and play a game at the MCG

4 Big gala night to pay recognition to the greats of the VFA/VFL including a hall of fame

5 The Establishment of a VFA/VFL Muesum.

Between 1877-1894 the VFA was the number one league in Australia until the breakaway for what Is now known as the AFL when 8 clubs broke away.

It’s a year to celebrate. Let’s get all the planning in now so it’s done right and professionally to pay respects to a significant milestone for our great league.

This Saturday the PMFC Heritage Museum will be holding a BBQ during the double header matches against Collingwood.
Sausages with onions, Cupcakes, Norm’s Brownies and Fred’s Cookies will be on offer so come by and help support our work.
