Over the past year, I’ve been writing a book for frontline families called What We Carry.

This book was written for the conversations that often stay unspoken, and for the people quietly carrying more than most realise.

We’re getting very close now, which feels both exciting and incredibly surreal to say out loud.

More soon 🤍

There’s something really powerful about women choosing themselves.

Mums. Wives. Business owners. Caregivers.
We spend so much of our time giving to everyone else… so moments like this matter.

This morning’s fusion Pilates class was the perfect reminder. A little sweat, a lot of laughs, and a room full of women showing up for themselves 💛

A beautiful space created by .bakic at .pilates , bringing together not just movement, but community, connection, and some gorgeous local businesses as a little treat as well.

I wrapped up the way I always do on a Saturday morning, in the sauna, taking a breath, reflecting on the week that’s been, and setting intentions for the one ahead.

Because looking after ourselves isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.

If you’ve been putting yourself last lately, consider this your reminder to take a moment for you 🤍

Dear Ethan,

Today you turn 12, and you’ve reached an age where you’re officially taller than me, (which I’m still in denial about!).

You’re now in the in-between season.

Not little, not grown, but stretching in every direction - physically and emotionally.

I see how you take in the world. The way you think before you speak. The way you care deeply, even when you’re not sure how to show it yet.

The way you are learning who you are, not by copying others, but by paying attention to what feels right to you.

You have a way of leading that doesn’t shout. You notice people. You make space. You’re thoughtful, funny, and far more observant than you realise.

The world doesn’t always reward that kind of strength straight away, but it’s the kind that lasts and will serve you well into the future.

There will be days when growing up feels awkward, loud, or unfair. On those days, remember this: you don’t need to be the biggest personality in the room to make an impact. Being kind, honest, and true to yourself will take you further than you think.

You don’t need to rush growing up.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to keep being you. 💙

I’m so proud of the boy you’ve been, and I can’t wait to see the young man you’re becoming, even if I do have to start looking up to talk to you! 😳

Thank you for teaching me patience, perspective, and how love can stretch in ways I never imagined.

Happy 12th birthday, my gorgeous boy 🎂

Always on your team!

Love,
Mum ✨

Today marks 15 years since my husband attested as a New South Wales Police Officer.

Fifteen years ago, we stepped into a life we couldn’t fully understand yet.

One defined by service, responsibility,

and a quiet acceptance that the job would often come first,

not out of choice, but out of duty.

Being a police family means learning to live with uncertainty.

It means holding the fort when shifts run long,

staying calm when the phone rings late,

and carrying a level of awareness that never really switches off.

The badge is worn by one, but it’s service is carried by many.

Over the years, this life has shaped us.

It’s strengthened our partnership,

deepened our values,

and taught us not to take ordinary moments for granted.

We’ve learned how precious safety, community, and coming home truly are.

In the wake of everything our state has experienced this week, I’m feeling a quiet gratitude.

For those who serve,

for those who support them,

and for the love that underpins it all when words fall short.

To my husband, I’m endlessly proud of you.

Not just for the uniform you wear, but for the man, the partner, and the father you are.

And to every police family walking this road beside their loved one,

I see you and I honour you for the role you hold.

💙

Dear Santa,
I’ve been mostly good this year…

Okay fine - it’s been a solid blend of good intentions, big ambitions, mum-life chaos, and a few “I’ll figure it out tomorrow” moments.

But surely that still counts for something on the nice list?

This season feels like a beautiful mix of joy, chaos, late-night gift purchases, and trying to remember what day it is!

Honestly, I can’t believe how fast this year has gone …it’s been huge. Big lessons, big growth, big shifts.

I’m grateful for every challenge and every opportunity that showed up along the way. ✨

So Santa, if you’re handing out gifts based on effort alone, I’m quietly hopeful I have qualified. 🎄😉

Love,
Simone 🤍

Sometimes life gets full, and that’s exactly where the magic is.

I’ve been a little quiet on here the last couple of weeks.

After Adelaide, life shifted straight into Christmas preparations, school countdowns, and the daily mission of keeping our Elf on the Shelf one step ahead of curious little minds.

It’s been busy, chaotic, and honestly, really beautiful.

But even in the rush, I’ve kept a promise to myself -

that my wellbeing doesn’t get pushed to the bottom of the list.

Breath work, morning movement, meditation, fresh air, and eating well have been my anchors.

They’re the small daily rituals that keep me grounded when life feels loud.

So while social media took a pause, real life was happening in the background…

the kind of life that fills your cup, stretches your heart, and reminds you what truly matters.

I’m easing back in now, grateful for the slowdown, the silliness, the connection, and the chance to look after myself so I can show up for the people I love.

How are you taking care of yourself during the Christmas rush?

🗣️ It starts with a conversation

…and a community that cares. 💙

Our local real estate legends,

have launched an incredible Movember initiative,

putting up over 150 signs (and still counting!!)

around our neighbourhood

to raise awareness and funds

for men’s mental health.

As a mum of boys,

this one hits close to home.

I’m passionate about raising

emotionally aware young men

who know it’s okay to cry,

okay to feel,

and okay to ask for help.

Because real strength isn’t found in silence

it’s found in honesty, vulnerability and connection.

I’m so proud to support this campaign

and can’t wait to see how much

our community raises together. 🙌

Let’s keep breaking the stigma

and reminding the men

and boys in our lives that they’re never alone. 💪

A little reset goes a long way. 🌿

This weekend we traded routine for adventure

and I’m so grateful for grandparents

who love our boys enough to give us

24 hours just for ourselves. ❤️

While Gavin was off chasing adrenaline

on his rally drive birthday experience,

I went the opposite way

deep into the bush for a quiet walk,

grounding myself in nature

and soaking up the calm.

We came back together for a country drive,

good coffee, and even better conversations

about goals, dreams, and the future ahead.

It’s amazing what a short break

can do for your soul,

your relationship,

and your sense of balance. ✨

How do you like to reset on the weekends?

School holidays…

that beautiful mix of chaos, cuddles,

and constant snack requests! 😅

As a working mum,

I always go into the break with great intentions

to slow down,

be present,

and juggle work and family in perfect balance.

And then reality hits.

Meetings, deadlines, laundry piles,

and kids declaring “I’m bored!”

five minutes after breakfast. 🫠

Here’s what I’ve learned over the years:

it’s not my job to entertain my kids 24/7.

Boredom is actually good for them.

It teaches creativity, independence,

and self-management - skills they’ll carry for life.

So instead of trying to fill every minute,

I’ve leaned into structure.

They have their own small responsibilities,

time for play, and time to just… figure it out.

Because discipline isn’t only about rules,

it’s about learning how to manage yourself

when no one’s watching.

And as for me?

I’ve learned to embrace the interruptions,

set clearer boundaries with work,

and remind myself that it’s okay

if the house looks unkept for a week or two.

School’s back tomorrow,

and I’ll admit it… I’m ready! 😅👏

How have you managed the juggle these holidays?

🎓✨ Today I get to share a very proud moment for myself…

I’ve officially graduated from the AICD Company Directors Course!

When I first enrolled,

I wondered how I would juggle it all…

a busy career,

board commitments,

and three young boys at home who keep life full of energy and noise! 🫣

There were moments I felt like giving up…

especially late at night when the readings blurred together after a long day. 🫠

But step by step, I kept going.

And now, looking back,

I’m so proud of what this represents,

not just the knowledge I’ve gained

in governance, risk, finance, and strategy,

but the resilience, discipline, and support network that carried me through.

To my family, mentors, and peers - thank you.

You reminded me why growth is worth the effort,

even when it feels hard. 💛

I’m excited to take this learning forward and continue making a difference in the organisations and communities I serve.
