What goes around really does come around. 🤍
Yesterday, while grocery shopping, I noticed a young mum struggling to get her shopping done with two little girls.
One was trying to climb out of the trolley, the other was running around, and she was trying her best to get through shopping while managing it all.
I recognised the look.
Not because she was doing anything wrong.
Because I’ve been that mum.
The overwhelmed mum.
The exhausted mum.
The mum trying to hold it all together while feeling like everyone is watching.
As I walked past her, I realised she looked familiar. She was actually a customer I’d served a few times at Supplement Mart, although I don’t think either of us recognised each other straight away.
Later, I saw her again in the self-serve checkout area, still trying to juggle her shopping and two little girls.
So I walked over and asked if I could help.
I gave the girls a couple of Arrowroot biscuits to keep them occupied in the trolley while she finished packing her groceries, and I reminded her of something I wish more mums heard:
“You’re doing a great job.”
“I’ve been there. It’s bloody hard sometimes, but you’re doing amazing. And don’t worry what anyone thinks. You are doing the best you can with what you’ve got. It’s no one’s business but your own.”
This morning she walked into my work with flowers and a packet of Arrowroot biscuits.
Then we both cried. 🥹😭
Not because of the flowers. 💐
But because sometimes the smallest acts of kindness mean the most.
This isn’t about biscuits.🍪
It’s about noticing people. 🥰
It’s about women supporting women. 👯♀️
It’s about remembering that we never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
If you see someone struggling, offer the help.
The world could use a little more kindness and a little less judgement. 🤍
This post is not about “look what I did.” It’s about reminding people that a small act of kindness can completely change someone’s day.
