What a buzz to be a part of 2025. My first time singing on live TV. You never know what opportunities may come along when you put yourself out there and follow your passion. I wish that for all of my students. Throw your hat in the ring, take a chance. Be willing to make mistakes and be imperfect...its the key to growing and developing as a singer and an artist.

When Scarlet told me at her voice lesson today that she'd written her first song I had no idea... wow, just wow! What a talent and the most beautiful girl inside and out. So proud 🥰

It's not necessary to practice for long periods of time every day to improve vocal technique. In fact, research in the field of neurology now shows that the brain 🧠 actually retains and integrates new information better when we keep practice short and focused. This is good news for singers!! #

Congratulations to my super talented student on winning the musical theatre component at her dance comp recently with "Beyond My Wildest Dreams". Can't wait to see her in her school's production of The Little Mermaid!

Do you ever record yourself when working on a song? This shot is from rehearsal yesterday with my friend and duo partner John. So many things jumped out at me when I played back the video footage we took of a few numbers. The shape of a vowel, the subconscious tightening of my jaw, the accidental use of vibrato on a phrase that would be more true to the genre if sung straight… so many opportunities to become more aware of how we sing and to make those adjustments. These little tweaks made and the awareness gained go a long way to helping us transform from “singers” into artists. Give it a go. Try recording yourself and listen back and notice what you see and hear. Let me know in the comments if you learned something about how you sing that surprised you! 😃

It had been a hot minute since my last live show with a full band. This pic from last weekend's debut performance with The Spectacular Blues Brothers makes my heart smile. Singing for a live audience is such a buzz and gives meaning to all the hours I spend teaching voice and training my own voice. Of course it can be nerve wracking and self doubt can creep in but the feeling you get on stage makes it absolutely worth it! 💯 Let me know how you feel about singing in front of an audience. I adore these multi colours of 😍 I, more often than not, have fresh flowers in my 1. Mostly because I have who buys them for me regularly and 2. Because I just love having beauty in my studio. I feel very fortunate to be able to do so.
