The first organised Perth women's league kicked off in Western Australia in 1972 after 30 years of sporadic women's matches dotted across WA, from Rosabrook in the south west to Dorrien Gardens in the City of Perth. The early Girls Soccer Association morphed into the Western Australian Women's Soccer Association and Women's Soccer WA (WSWA). More Associations formed after 1972, reflecting the grow

th in the game and expansion into regional WA. With Football West's inauguration in 2005, all soccer codes in Western Australia merged and WSWA dissolved.
