We play 5-a-side indoor futsal in all year and small sided outdoor games in winter at Rhodes Park, Calista, and organise training for members as well as matches with local teams. We work on recreational play, especially for beginners, but also work in more competition for more experienced players. Several of our players also do AFL in winter - we see no reason why kids can't do both (if their pare
nts can find the time!)
We're happy to arrange a game with local clubs or schools, either indoors or outside at Rhodes Park - if you can get a team together then give me a call on 0416213544. We tend to keep the sides small on small pitches (see Horst Wein's recommendations - http://blog.thebeautifulgame.ie/about-the-beautiful-game/horst-wein-coach/) preferably 3v3 with four small goals for the young kids (aged 5-6), 4v4 with slightly larger goals or 4 pod goals for the 7/8s and 5v5 to 9v9 for over 9s - we can use futsal sized goals or our larger junior ones, depending on teams that come along. We're pretty flexible though so can arrange whatever format suits the players.
