There has been a lot going on at the PHGC in the last few weeks culminating in the Pennants competition at West Wyalong last Sunday. We were the defending winners from last year so a team of 6 headed down the highway to try their luck. Andy Brownlow, Brett Rosser, Todd Dunn, TimBell, Greg Deiner and Murray Bragg all had a good day out but ran up against some red hot local teams who took the title this year. There were some great individual scores so well done to everyone who travelled and had a go.

Saturday 30th of may was the Presidents trophy 🏆 which was an 18 hole stroke event. An inform Brenton Byrne took the honours with an impressive 83 off the stick. We had a great roll up for the day with 13 players doing 18 holes and one turning up for 9 holes.

Saturday the 6th of June was an 18 hole stableford event and Brenton confirmed his hot streak with another win in a close finish with Daryl Dow and Tim Bell coming close behind. Brenton also smashed his drive to get the long drive as well.

The ladies have been playing early to avoid the cooler evening and I haven’t had any recent results for a couple of weeks.

After more rain last night and this morning it looks like it’s going to be a slow, damp track for tomorrow’s golf.
Tee off will be at 11am for those who want to have a hit.

Hope to see everyone out having a hit soon. Happy golfing 🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️

Greens this week is Greg Bell and Grant Payseno

Hi all from the PHGC
It has been a while between posts and this one is a bit rushed as well. There has been a lot on and little time to sit dow and put the results out.
Sunny weather has returned and the course looks green and ready to go. There will be an 18 hole V Par event tomorrow so would love to see a big turnout for that. This will be a good warm up for our Pennants team who are defending their B grade win at lasts years event. We are travelling to West Wyalong to take on the best teams in the area and see if we can nail down back to back wins. Good luck to all taking part in that event.
I will post the results of the Pennants as well as the three previous weeks results early next week. Promise!!!🤞

Till then happy golfing 🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️

Greetings from the PHGC.

What a difference a few weeks can make. The course has received over 120mm of rain in 3 falls this month and is really starting to look a treat. With fairly mild weather it has turned green and will be looking magnificent for our open tournament at the end of August.

All the run has gone out of the fairways so will make low scoring a lot more difficult

Saturday 16th saw the G Cross memorial Trophy played which was an 18 hole Stroke event. There was some good scoring with Andy Brownlow shooting an impressive 74 off the stick but his scratch handicap ment that Murray Bragg snuck past him for the victory.
The big hitting Ian Deitrich got the long drive again but there were some mumblings of a protest with the return of “the hammer 🔨 “. Police are investigating!
Andy had the least putts with 22 off the flat stick.

Last Saturday was the 27 hole mixed foursomes championship. An early start was the order of the day for the three teams who contested this event. Di Hutchins and Brett Rosser started the first 9 holes well and were never headed for the rest of the day. Francis Bell and Tim Bell battled it out with Yvonne Kelly and Murray Bragg for the minor places and it was Team Bell who were eventual runners up by 1/2 a stroke. Congrats to Di and Brett.
An 18 hole stroke event was played by the remaining 4 men and this was won by Ian Deitrich with long drive taken out by Brenton Byrne’s who when he hits one straight, they stay hit!!!
Thanks and well done to everyone who came and had a go.

Big prizes on offer this weekend with the Presidents Trophy up for grabs. 18 hole stroke event teeing of at 11:30. Please be at the clubhouse by 11.
Greens this week are I Westcott and M Bragg.

Hope to see as many as possible out having a hit on Saturday, shouldn’t be much tractor work going on.

Happy golfing 🏌️ ⛳️

Hi All from the PHGC
Very slack this week as I have been meaning to put a post up all week but here we are , Friday night and no post!!
Any way, I went to the club last night to get the result sheet and ended up taking a photo of the wrong one. I will put up all results in next week’s post( which might be mid week). Fingers crossed 🤞
50mm of rain has changed the course in a matter of days and whilst we may not get the run of previous weeks it is looking great. Deit has been busy on the mower and all fairways are looking a treat.
This weeks golf see a mixed event over 27 holes 😳. The more ladies we can get , the more teams can play. Tee of will be at 10am to get done by dark but for everyone else there will be an 18 hole event from 11 - 11:30.
Hopefully we see a good roll up as it is the perfect time of year to play golf.
T Bell and J Paddison are on greens this week
Happy golfing 🏌️ ⛳️

Hi from the PHGC
After some handy rain around the district there was no problems getting a tee time last Saturday with a lot of our regulars burning the candle to get a crop in while there is a bit of moisture in the ground.
7 turned up for a hit which was more than I expected and the weather was perfect for golf once again.
The Roy Bell trophy was up for grabs and it was a polished performance from the evergreen Ian Dietrich to take the chocolates. The minor prizes were spread around with Daryl Dow flexing his muscles to claim the long drive while Brett Rosser had the radar dialled in on the 2nd hole to snare the nearest to the pin. Todd Dunn grabbed the Nearest to the pin second shot and Murray Bragg had the fewest putts.

This weekend we are playing an 18 hole stroke event for the G Cross Memorial Trophy so hope to see everyone out having a go. If you don’t feel like playing a full 18 holes, turn up at 2:30 and join in for the last 9. We would love to see you there.
Muster at 11am for a 11:30 start.
Happy golfing 🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️

A chilly Gday from the Peak Hill golf Club. I think winter has finally arrived and a few first fires of the season has been lit.
Also great news on the rain front with the course receiving 25mm which will make a big difference going into winter. Our farmers had some good falls with 50-60mm being reported in places around the district. Hope you all got something and with any luck more to follow soon. The only downside is that a big chunk of our playing members will be burning (expensive) diesel trying to get the crop in so if your looking for a game it will be a quiet time for the next month or so.
Saturday 2nd saw a mixed American event and we were lucky enough to have four teams contesting for the Wilson shield 🛡️. Too may different rules to list here but apparently it was a fun day had by all.
Winners on the day was the dynamic duo of Frances Bell and Scotty Bickett who dusted off all comers for a comfortable victory. Great to see Terry Galvin make the track over to PH and make up a team. He and Yvonne had the best gross score for the day but a low handicap did them in.
Men’s long drive went to the big hitting Ian Dietrich and Frances Bell grabbed the ladies. Terry got the Nearest to the pin 2nd shot. Well done to all who played.
This Saturday will see the Roy Bell trophy being contested which is an 18 hole V Par event.
11am muster for an 11:30 tee off for those who can play.
Hope to see everyone there for another perfect day to play golf ⛳️
Greens this week are Greg Bell
And Grant Payseno.
See you there!

ANZAC day at the Peak Hill Golf Club saw 10 golfers playing a 18 hole stroke event.
After a morning of dawn services, marches and reflection golf started a little bit late but a good roll up all the same.
Perfect drought weather again for golf this week and scoring reflected the conditions.
After a close 2nd place last week Gary Kopp made sure of it this week with a polished performance to take the victory. With 83 off the stick and a 69 nett it was daylight 2nd.
Runner(s) up was a three way affair with Brenton, Murray and Greg D all ending up on 71 nett. Long Drive went to Brenton Byrne and Greg Diener get the nod with the short stick with fewest putts.
A new award was given out on Saturday with Gary Kopp also taking this out being for “ Getting in the road all Day”. Congratulations!!
No ladies played on Saturday but they did play Sunday. I haven’t got results for that atm.
Golf this Saturday is a mixed event so the more ladies we get to play the more teams we will have. Everyone else will play a stableford round.
11 am muster for a 11:30 tee off.

Greens this week is Brenton and Grant Byrne.

Hope to see everyone out having a hit soon ⛳️
