Not boxing news but, half marathon done!!!! ✅🥳

12 weeks ago when I had surgery on my hand & knew I wouldn’t be boxing for a while, I asked Jacob to write me up a plan to run a half marathon. What I didn’t realise is that after bed rest for a few weeks post surgery I would lose a lot of my fitness so I pretty much had to start from scratch.

It hurt, but I needed it to. Every morning I battled thinking there was no point doing anything if I couldn’t box.
But I knew I had to pick myself up out of bed and push myself.
I know everyone can run 21.1kms in some capacity, but this was more than running, this was a test to myself to keep going & stick to a plan even when I felt like giving up.

An update for you all wondering what I’ve been up to, which is one I’ve been putting off writing 😌

Unfortunately 6 weeks ago I injured my hand while sparring. For 2 weeks I was in a cast, then a splint, been for X-rays, ct scans and an mri.

Long story short as the visible signs of injury started easing, I started getting pins and needles, spasms, aching and numbness in the area. As no scan has picked up anything broken etc, I’ve been referred to a hand specialist who I will see this week for some advice & a plan.

Because of this, the past 6 weeks I haven’t been able to train properly as I can’t punch with my right hand. This has been more a mental battle than a physical one as it meant making and coming to terms with some tough decisions regarding the rest of 2025.

The big one being I’ve decided to withdraw from Nationals & not fight for the remainder of 2025, until I can get some answers and sort out my hand.

For now I’ll keep doing what training I can & reflect on what I have already achieved this year with all the countries I got to travel doing what I love.

I’ll be back don’t you worry, hopefully for a big 2026! 🥊
